Durbahn GSXR 750 2006

This guy, is the nuts, he makes bad-ass bikes, complete make-overs of already very good bikes. His sites have proven great material for salivating over. I remember emailing him a year ago asking him why he didn’t do anything with GSXR’s. I had a 750 at the time and it looks like he listened! Bit late though, doh.

The attention to detail this guy has is unreal, he will completely strip the bike, weigh everything, and try to reduce the weight, improve the performance and make it look out of this world. I can’t wait to see how it develops…

Aye caramba !

Just one point though - shouldn’t this really be in the adult section, those piccies are pure porn !

Bike-porn, the best type there is

Looking gorgeous, i hope we see it when he`s finished building it. I for one would buy the magazine covering the project.

A very important detail at the shiftfork I detected a few days ago .
It’s a special designed Section of the shiftfork, which only can lead into bad shifting.
I’m totally out of any clue why Suzuki may have done this (it’s even more work than to fab a shiftfork the common way ).
I’ll picture this detail soon.

Hey Thorsten, welcome to LB! Thank-you for posting up, it’s an honour Your SP2 and 999 projects have amazed me, I can’t wait to see how the GSXR comes along! I must admit, it makes me want another 750 knowing you’re building things for it.

The new engine layout is quite radically different to previous 750’s. The higher, and more stacked design seems similar to put the gearbox in a position similar to how Yamaha’s and Honda’s have done it before. I do not like the look of the new shifting mechanism, it looks prone to bad-shifts, as you say!

Well,I like all the technical diskussion , forum members comments with some deepness , moving to Q’s or Solutions for details . But of course , biggest Threads are mostly regarding Blinkers or Carbon mirrors, but ok… I remember beeing young somewhere in the past, where I would have asked the same things . Meanwhile , if I have to ask something, it is not so easy to find one who could give the answer . One I know has been responsible for the technical side of the HRC Castrol Bikes with Koczinsky… Edwards, and so on.He’s an excellent source .Some other freaks too I have here around , without those friends and their help it would be impossible to (even to start ? ) finish my Projects.
My objective is the GSXR at 136kg without Fuel ,therefore you can not stop at half of the way .

It’s almost enough to tempt me to the big ‘S’ side.

Almost

But a really sweet job there, T - man.

I’m doing the lottery, thunderball, lotto extra and the euro mills this week That is going to be one hell of a bike. Any other problems with the bike Thorsten?

As a K6 750 owner that is just the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. Thorston, i congratulate you sir and very much look forwards to the rest of the project.

I want one!

It’ll take a while , at present the crankshaft is at a friend , to be machined to carry my special belt driven Alternator …

I don`t mind waiting at all, look forward to the updates Thorsten.

Welcome to Lb mate, please let us know your progress, I love the bikes

Seen his RC30? It’s in PB this month. I love what this guy does with bikes.

Oooh and according to his website, the RC30’s for sale!

Redesigning the clutch-basket gear now? Brilliant

OEM:

€2,150 for the raw Titanium needed to rebuild the following components, now that’s dedication

This bike will end up SIGNIFICANTLY lighter, and the bike is already light! I am actually badly tempted by all this. The saving-grace is that it’s being done to the 750, and not the 1000. If it was the thou, I would be in a lot of trouble.

I’m wondering what the interest would be in a ride-out to Hamburg, to visit Thorsten’s workshop? Hehehe, I would go, just for the ride, enjoy a weekend sipping German beer and admiring the most insane sportsbike creations ever made in a workshop.

Pop over , I’m here .
The beer here isn’t that bad !
