Duel Headlight Conversion

Now that the nights have drawn in i’m not liking the lack of visibility that I get from my Ninja being that low beam is only on one headlight. I’ve decided to do a dual headlight conversion to enable me to use both headlights for low and full beam and install some brighter bulbs.

I’ve found a couple of guides, the one I plan to use is attached but also found this one which seems much the same although on a 636. http://www.kawiforums.com/showthread.php?s=2ca3934983a01e91f52d1dd701566df4&t=83500

Just thought I’d run it by you first to see if anyone else has had any previous experience.

PS I’ve already bought some Philips H4 bulbs and the relay.

Thanks,
Jez

I cannot understand why manufacturers do that on bikes costing a small fortune for the sake of a bit of wire, imagine the uproar if cars only had one light working

I was very tempted to do this on my CBR which also has “fox-eye” lights.

I didn’t because of the light shells. Making a bulb light up on both sides is fairly simple but if one reflector sheel is made for dipped and the other for main beam (as in my case) then getting both bulbs lit means you’re at risk of blinding people when riding on dipped.

Mod didn’t go quite as planned as the bulb fittings on my bike are different to the one in the guides! don’t really want to bodge it so going to have another look this weekend.

If you just want more light then fit an HID kit, quite cheap now, same price as a few of the fancy bulbs and you get far more light from them.
