I think it looks a bit odd, but must admit, I’m drawn to the idea of it. I’ve been considering replacing the GS for an RSV4, but the one thing we love to do is tour, and whilst I’ve done it on an RSV4, it wasn’t ideal. This, at least intellectually, might be a good balance between being exciting enough to go out and hoon around on at weekends, whilst being brilliant for touring as well. Maybe.
Personally I think that looks incredible. If I had the cash and wasn’t so worried about it being nicked, I’d be all over that. I think anything of the “exotic” or “sporty” variety is a huge target. Personally my bike fits neither of those categories, so I feel fairly safe.
Raised bars. Wonder what that feels like leaned forward. But like others have said won’t go near anything vaguely new for hassle of theft. See we can do risk assessment too!
Really nice bike! I think 2016/17 will be a great year for bikes, I haven’t seen many ugly bikes from the big brands so far this year. Different styles yet all very good looking, specially the super sport ones.
Semi rigid is of no use. I want a rack I can shove my 44 litre solid Givis on to. That way, I can ride somewhere, leave all our bike kit in the panniers, and walk around in normal clothing.
Curiously, I did see a Monster 821 with luggage frames at InMoto today, but was with a client and couldn’t find out more
Mmm interesting … the niches between models are getting so slim these days I get befuddled… at least the price is cheaper (unless you want it to look a bit “special” and that picture is the white with red wheels expensive one…
Solid luggage is an advantage, but that said, we’ve never had any problems with soft luggage with locks on. Semi-rigid has he advantage of being lighter, which can’t be discounted when you have to lug them through a hotel.
