gratuitous porn shot…

That is a lovely bike

Beautiful bike JerryXT.

Even if it does blow up every week, I want one!

all it needs is megan fox in latex on it and its perfect:)

Most Jap bikes probably, you obviously had a bad egg;)

Ongoing issue…

So I bleed it and clutch seems to return, just refreshed the fluid and the clutch returns to normal operation. However I cannot seem to get rid of all the air, which maybe suggests a leak somewhere?

I also looked at the cover behind the front sprocket and there was a lot of muck. someone explained that the sprocket can be responsible for gungey clutch fluid as it flings the muck into and forces it through the slave cylinder seal i think.

I wonder if i have seals and or gaskets leaking…?

Took bike for a short ride and smelt a burning. Quickly and slowly rode back home. Removed clutch cover, etc as per Sneaky above.

The push rod has fixed itself into the clutch face, where the bearing sits. the bearing is rough and the push rod is black and grotty.

Sneaky… any help/advice would be appreciated!

Images hope to illustrate that pushrod is stuck, I have also noticed the clutch face-thingy has a small hole in it. Presume replace…

that is vewy vewy nice:cool:

fantastic. look at that yummy front end

oooooooooooooooohhhhlins:D

Well, whats the news?

parts arrived yesterday, slave seal, bearing and push rod seals.
added them in, heating the pressure plate, freezing bearing etc. all a good fit.

Added clutch springs back and clutch lever was hard as a rock. Bled clutch and was cursing myself as it was all going well until then.

I think I read there is a screw on the slave that needs to be opened to free the slave piston, as I could not push the piston back, it kept returning.

So I now know I have to flush fluid, remove slave, unscrew piston screw thing. then reassemble.

the other thing I was struggling with was wheter to sort the clutch side first and add the clutch springs then do the slave or the other way around. also torque of spring bolts seems a little confusing :S

Sounds like it’s coming along nicely!

don’t worry about the torque on the spring bolts - just tighten them properly with a short allen key and if you’re that worried about them, put some threadloc on them.

mmm, ffffffactory too - WSB

all up and running!

Took me ages to get the slave and pushrod mechanism right. got through loads of clutch fluid bleeding it numerous times.

All ready for a ride tomorrow and hopefully the last of the problems for now…

Might even take it along to the next Borough mkt meet. have a good weekend all.

  • cheers for all the help and advice

Ducatis are an arse ache man. Mind u probably why graham norton rides one

Harleys are worse. I had one for a bit took the mrs on the back but the vibrations were to much. Looked like someone had opened a jar of Helmand mayonnaise on the pillion seat.

The smallest amount of air in your hydralic clutch line will not want to disengage the clutch, if you try to ride like this you risk premature clutch plate wear and bearing overheating as seen by some of the pics in earlier posts.

After overheating it’s best to change all dust / oil seals and the pressure palte bearing otherewise failure is not far away.
