this is a little love job i did last year for my mate.he beg me to do it.he said it only had one owner and 11000 miles?i told him to throw it back in the ditch he found it in,he said he paid real money for it?i said did this man have any magic beans for sale coz he should have got them instead.still a few weeks later i gave it back like this.he seemed quite pleased.i told him never to bring any more of his **** around my house again, wos it worth it?
most people would have scrapped the bike but what a lovely looking bike now.fantastic job well done
Lovely:cool:Deffinately one for Classic Motorcycle Mechanics:D

nice job, would love an old XT or XL for playtime
some serious hours gone in there to bring that back to life!
you gave it back a few weeks later? are the dates right on the photos? 2001 - 2005?
Crikey!
Does that mean that there’s still hope for my bike?:w00t:
Wow an xt500 i learnt to ride one of them as an 11year old, i used to tear round the farm on it:D
i started in early march and he got it back late june .he must have done 50 miles on it and it just sits in his garage now.parts are pretty easy to get but the exhaust and loom took some finding as they were shot.u can get part like swithes bars, rubbers ,decals, seals off the internet.seat was pain as he wanted the metal base repaired and thair was`nt much left of it,the foam and cover was done by someone else.this cost about 1600 quid in parts the labour was free, but i do have nice carpets in me house, his a fitter. the engines come back out for a repant as i had few problems with the carb leaking .
