Before that Ryanair will be charging you an extra £1 to taxi from the runway to the parking bay.

I agree that it’s getting ridiculous. Typical that they introduce this the day I have to go up there to pick someone up. Apparently, according to their website, you are forbidden from entering to pick up, you have to pay for the short term rip off park. I wonder how they police it, I guess I’ll find out later!
Let’s just hope nobody comes up with a portable method of measuring oxygen consumption, we’ll be paying for that soon otherwise!

Also, you have to pay for those stupid plastic bags to put your liquids in when you go through security - £1 for 4. You can only take one through, but they do come in a nice little plastic container.
You also get charged £1 to take the bus from the train station to the airport I found out recently.
I have only used Luton a couple of times, but I won’t be going there again unless I have absolutely no other option - it stinks.
I parked my bike there for free once. But I’d chained my lid to the wheel and it p*ssed down so when I got back I had to stick my head into a cold, wet lid.

I take my bike to Luton. Parking is free and reasonably secure. It is even possible to chain it to a fence post. So far they haven’t worked out how to make bikes pay, but as they’ve been rebuilding the car park I dare say they’ll be thinking about that, too!The downside is that there is nowhere to change other than in the airport loos - which is a bit of a pain as they’re miles from the bike parking - or out in the windswept bleakness of the tarmac beside the bike. In winter it is a race to get into your leathers before losing the use of your fingers to the windchill.
I do the latter - and the guys working on the carpark shout ‘gerrumofff!’ in a most ungalant fashion. To$$ers.
