Drive chain Suppliers - any recommendations?

Hi folks,

I’m looking to order a new drive chain - I’ve been using M&P for the last decade but was wondering if there are any other firms that people use that get the specifications right and deliver on time?

Many thanks for any info.

Three years ago I used Bitzforbikes to get a really good chain (gold DID ZVM2), arrived in good time, for £150 which after much research seemed like a good price as it included new sprockets. HOWEVER the rear sprocket they sent me was the wrong one so I sent it back and asked for a replacement/refund, they never responded, and I never pursued it as the original sprocket didn’t need replacing anyway.

So to answer your question - they’re good for chains but be very careful when ordering kits from them.

I have had a new set installed since then (35k miles later) which I just left to my very excellent mechanic, Ollie (ex of Premier Motorcycles, West Wickham) to source. And he got a very good price, but he might have done me a good deal being a regular (and he did a lot of other work for me at that time including new front discs and brake lines).

Thanks for the info eezy

To be honest M&P are usually pretty good - they have a lot of chains to choose from and have got the specs right every time I have ordered from them.

I just wanted to see if there are any other good suppliers out there.

Have been getting my chains from FWR for years, always a good price & service.

Thanks Pat - I’ll check em out.

Not sure if its too late but I’ve recently ordered AFAM chain from the following site :

Not sure if its true but AFAM chains are supposed to be good. Manged to get 30 per cent off as well.

Yeah - I’ve run Afam - and I found them to be a high quality, strong chain that delivered good mileage - I would say that they are as good as D.I.D. which are also excellent chains.

I’ve got an AFAM chain on a 1200 bandit that I bought from the aforementioned FWR & that’s done over 25K without any issues, albeit with a Scotoiller.

“Hingleys Best”. Was the chain that was on the titanic
Don’t know if still trading
