Dr Bill Revell, RIP

I’m sat here in a deal of shock after hearing that familiar face, colleague and senior lecturer in biomedical sciences Dr Bill Revell has died in an RTA.

Bill was only about 5’ 2" but had one of the early Hayabusas, which he absolutely loved. It was kind of incongruous to watch him come out of the Uni and hop on that beast. Apparently he rounded a bend and collided with an overturned pickup truck and his number was up.

It’s the one thing I hate about biking, losing faces to death and serious injury. I have a real issue with it and it perhaps stops me from getting closer to you peeps on LB.

RIP Bill.

That’s sad :frowning: RIP

Horrible news.

No one likes it im affriad. Tough to deal with. Especially someone so close to you. Sorry to hear. RIP

RIP Bill. Condolences and deepest sympathy to his family and friends, Richie B.

RIP

Deepest sympathies to yourself and anybody affected by this mate!

It’s never an easy time, but I hope you find the strength to get through the next few days!

RIP

Sorry to hear this.

My thoughts are with you, his family and friends. Truly terrible news. RIP Dr Revell.

Horrible horrible news. RIP

Of no consolation: http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/man_arrested_after_welwyn_garden_city_death_crash_1_302275

Weirdly enough, I’m familiar with that road, having ridden it unintentionally last year and revisited it since (because it’s quite nice round the Digswell viaduct area). It’s a 20 zone with bumps and chicanes. Feck knows what’s happened there.
