down... but definately not out!

Had a bit of a bash this weekend guys :frowning:

Got T Boned by a girl in a car with her mates on Sat night - it was at sub 5mph so not huge - pleanty of damage on the bike - nice long list - I’ve repaired the bike to make it road worthy but waiting for the insurance bloke to come out and take a look.

I actually need some advice on how to deal with the issurance claim as I’ve not had an off that’s involved another vehicle before - and as I’m only 3rd party not sure what the steps are - insurance company say they are going to sue for unisured damages.

Anyhow - all is okay - bike doesn’t look to bad - fairing held together with araldite and good old gaffa tape!

Need a new mud guard, fairing, alternator cover, rear grab rail… that seems to be about it at the moment.

Also… I know I’ve defended Chiswick Honda in the past but this is it… yesterday stripped the whole head of the bike to look for damage and re-seat my fairing etc… when taking the fairing / head off discovered 6 missing bolts that hold the fairing in place…! Can you believe it! No chance they came off in the accidident - they just weren’t there… so that’s it as far as I’m concerned Toby’s never going back to that place ever again!

…so any suggestions for a Honda dealer near St Albans…?

Matt

sorry to hear this - man that sucks both on the accident and the missing bolts… i used to deal with Chiswick Honda as well… now using motoden in shoreditch on the a10.

the hornets going in for her first service tomorrow - will let you know how it goes…

Bugger. How the hell did she do that.

Main thing is you’re a OK.

Sorry can’t help as don’t ride a rice burner

silly woman decided to turn right after a junction to come back to it… as I was overtaking at 5mph… she was doing even less didn’t know where she was going and had a car full of drunk friends.

m

Sorry to hear about your touch Matt … did her drunk friends get out, loosen your clothing and give you some first aid ?

Or did you do what I did when my bike got hit … had a right tantrum and let rip ?

Yeah - there’s not that much damage - I’d be happy to just go get the parts to get the bike looking good again - but I’m not sure if I’m allowed… I’ve made repairs but it still looks damaged… what I find funny is that I’ve been riding around London for 6 months through the worst crap the british winter can throw at me - and not a knock - one weekend at home in the quiet vallies on a sunny night… and down I go! ha.

how did you know!? Yeap tantrum and just shouted at me the entire time… I was lying under my bike at the time

It was a very silly little accident with little damage… easy enough to sort out… but I couldn’t get over how they where shouting at me.

Police happed to drive past as I was removing myself from my bike… nice chaps who calmed the young ladies down then made sure to say nice and close to me… “You again… I just pulled you for using your mobile whilst driving… and gave you a ticket”… thank you PC

Sorry to hear that mate!

Pm’d ya its what I do for a living mate, podcast issue ?

she was putting lipstick on and doing her hair and her nails while texting her mate all at the time

while sing to her fav song …lol

hope u aint to badly hurt .glad ur bike is back on the road

Damn Matt, that sucks, glad you’re okay. Hope the insurance goes well. So was she on the phone at the time? With a comment like that from the Policeman, it speaks volume about her attitude towards driving!

Sorry to hear that Matt!

ahh matt sorry to hear that…good thing the police are on ure side as that amkes the world of difference.

I had an off a little while ago on my 400, not my fault and bike wasnt rode worthy due to the forks being mashed up quite alot.

Im tpft and myu ins co. apointed my a solicitors who did everything, intially it took some time to egt all the paper work sorted but they chased up the other party ins co and claimed all my damages, leather helmets medical…etc

dont be expecting a pay off any time soon, took 3 months and that was with theguy admitting he was at fault.

Also i opted for cash in loot, the quotes for repair i got where in excess of 3 grand for a 2 grand bike! So they wrote it off and gave me the bike plus the cash of the bikes agreed value (engineer came over and had a look, luckliy gsxr400rr werent in his green book so he was more negotiable)…so i got 2000+my banged up bike which i then sold for parts…

Hope that helps and that things get sorted

Glad you are OK and aren’t you glad babyJ made you buy all that stuff now?

Blimey Matt.

If it’s not kids throwing bottles it’s girls driving over you.

Note to self - don’t ride near Matt

Hi Matt, sorry to hear this ‘my friend’ . Thank heaven’s you’re OK, bikes are replaceable.

Hope you manage to sort this out with your insurance company and fingers crossed the stupid girl gets some grief from the boyz in blue in future.

Sorry to hear bout your off mate, hope the bike is back on the road soon.

Can I just ask though…why am I never allowed back to Chiswick Honda…? I’ve never been there before…

lol!

Okay so here are the pics! I love her car - didn’t think me standing still could cause all that damage!

Sooooo sorry to hear bout your little mishap - glad you are OK mate. On the insurance front, wen I had a prang I just made sure that my insurance details were exchanged, informed my insurance and then didnt hear anything for ages.

I nearly got side swiped today in town - and have slowed down from manic filtering but my engine is so bloody noisy they tend to hear me coming, but if she was puttin her make up on at the time, she needs a slappin.
