typically when they are installed as halo light fittings to headlights…
i need to know what the general life expectancy is, and are they expensive to replace if they stop working

Sounds a bit pikey to me mate, I’m gessing you want to fit them to your fucus?? for that I’m a Gayboy car modder with more money than sense look. Well stuff like that normally comes as a unit a sealed headlamp and if they break then its a replacement unit Id say dont bother they look crap unless on a car that has them as a standard fit!
i didnt ask your opinion on whether you like them or not, just what you know about them
these ones are very cool actually, very audi looking…
and the reason im changing the car is cause i dont like leaving things plain, boring and ordinary
and before the next person comes in saying its a bike website, its the general section which is not bike specific, and i know theres a few people on here who have fitted them to their bikes
I know that if they break you will have to replace the whole unit… Maybe you should ask the sellers and may be worth asking if them sell them in singles just incase you have to buy one?
Those ones dont look to bad
I take it back I think they look ****… Id just buy some xenons better look better functionalty, Personnaly Id be more worrried about the LEDs packing up as soon as you loose one or two they look even more ****!
out of curiosity how much are they??
ive thought about xenons, but ive heard that if they are put into lenses that are not designed for them, the beam can get scattered to much and actually make them illegal.
Also, when cars come with xenons oem as standard, theres a reason they also come with headlight washers - the beam is soo prone to getting scattered that the lens needs to be clean, otherwise they are not as effective.

remember that one next time you get dressed eh??
you can talk with your furry slippers and dressing gown
and handbag
You really need projector lamps for Xenons but you can get shielded bulbs now for normal reflector lamps and any lamp will get dirty as its on the front of the car Steve, just wipe em over now and then I dont have washers on my bike. I bet a set of projector lamps 2nd hand are cheaper than them Jobbys…
come on how much??
Homer slippers actually and Westie borrowed my hand bag a while back he hasn’t returned it yet
imho, modded focii can look very good
i can also get these ones which are still projectors, quite allot cheaper than the above and fit xenons like you said.
i do need something more powerful as when im driving up and down from chichester late at night i cant see feck all.
have u got xenons fitted to the r1 then?
Id go for them steve to be honest if the other ones **** up you will have to buy a new unit, The projectors with xenons will look sweet,
Try and get a set of ballasts off another car IE scrap yard or ebay after market kits are ok but bulbs can be a pain to get hold of and the sets can be unreliable I had a cheap set on my motor and they use to pulse sometimes, besides if you get an OEM kit you can different colour bulbs of ebay from the states thats where I got my pinky whites from and the Ballasts were out of a TVR and I have had no trouble Ocassionly one wont fire but thats a safety trigger in them, thats rare though!!
If you go that route give us a shout I’ll give you a hand getting them on
hmm you have me thinking now.ford do produce a headlight unit for the focus st that are for xenons, would they come with the ballast unit integrated do you think?
Yes Steve I had hem on there the whole time Ive had the bike!!! Ballasts off a TVR bulbs off ebay Fitted by me Hardest part was finding the room for the ballasts but on a car thats no problem.
Sending you a pm
If your going to fords for the lot they will pull your pants down on the price, if you buy a car new and take xenons as an option you will pay 3-400 notes for the privilage so bare it in mind. One thing I will add they are **** in fog you just have a wall of light in front of you…Look at the pm I sent you the loom is about £20 quid, bulbs will be about 40 to 50 dollars I did have some standard white ones knocking about but **** knows what I did with them…
Sent you another PM Bitch!!!
