Does anyone have any pictures of damaged leathers/helmet etc please?

for completely legal reasons of course…pm me

Thanks.

It’s this sort of fraud that is pushing insurance cost through the roof.

If your going to commit fraud don’t be stupid enough to put up posts of your accident or your brother’s accident and then ask for images of damaged items so that you can claim against the third party. Public forums such as this one are used as a source of intelligence by the police, not to mention a couple members of the police force are also LB members.

I personally don’t have any moral issues, etc like a lot of the people on here. With the way prices are going through the roof more and more people are naturally going to do it. Its each to their own but you are going to offend people so be ready to defend yourself as your going to get a lot of stick.

i know: why dont you wear your gear and fall down the stairs? we can all come and take pics & video of the fall for you!

Parasite

im guessing its in connection with your little mishap last week ?

if your helmet really did hit the post, that should be enough to have them replace it ?

we may be jumping to conclusions but given the post about you the other day, i think it’s more of a hop than a jump… not cool what you’re trying to do if our assumptions are correct!

Wow. Sorry for getting up everyone’s nose with this one. Yea i was taken off last week. A testament to BKS leathers how well they took the abuse. They are scratched up all on one side but have no large tears. I’d rather his company bought me a replacement set rather than sending them off for a dodge repair or giving me a coupon for a repair job, thats all. The helmet is fucked yes.

As for the insurance premiums, i understand your point, which is why im not claiming for ‘whiplash’, or a brused finger that stoped me from playing tiddlewinks for 2 days etc etc.

Parasite is a bit over the top, im not money grabbing, just want my damaged gear replaced. We’ve all been there, and clearly i have a thing or two to learn.

why not get a quote for the repair from Wasp (user on here) for the repair, if they are doing it properly (or at least through insurance) i think you can state where they would be fixed.

many people on here would vouch for wasp’s stitching too.

I can help with that just curious what you want them for.

If your leathers are scratched then why don’t you just send them pictures of that? It doesn’t matter whether the leathers are completely ruined or whether they are scratched, the law states that you should be put back in the same position that you were before the accident; they may pay to replace only the damaged panel with a new one if they can find a quote for that (and if they can be bothered to spend time looking for one in the first place) and if not, they’ll pay for the value of the leathers because at the end of the day, they are not as good as they were before the accident.

Even if they do find a quote for replacing the damaged panels only, if it’s more than the value of the leathers they’ll just pay the value of the leathers. And you don’t have to agree to have the leathers fixed by someone you don’t know, you can also ask for cash-in-lieu for the value of the repairs.

The value will be the purchase price minus a deduction for wear and tear, btw

There are so many ways to get your leathers sorted out, why try to be sneaky about it? Just send them photos of the damage to your leathers with a copy of the purchase receipt or, if you don’t have it anymore, a quote (internet printout is ok) for the purchase of the same leathers

My apologies mate, ‘parasite’ was a bit OTT; I’d had a **** day!

haha, no worries, it can’t have been as bad as mine!! I didn’t really think about how this post would come across at first, ap[ologies to everyone who was mildly annoyed.

Looking to buy the same bike again now, try and find a nice low milage number, maybe in orange or green this time so dickhead taxi drivers see me.

Here she was in happier times through Woodcote…along with my nice, unmarked leathers.

the only parasites are the insurance companies, lieing two faced scumbags who try to get out of paying for anything its not what you claim for its how you claim and how you say it, but it all depends on what boxes you ticked or left unticked when you took out yr insurance:) etc etc blah blah

Agreed. I was taken out 18 months ago and my textiles were scruffed a little on the shoulder. I enquired about this and was told that I shouldn’t be worse off in any way as that’s what insurance is for : to indemify losses. I therefore claimed for the replacement. All I had to do was submit photo and if possible a receipt. Since I didn’t have an itemised receipt I was printed out web links of the stuff showing the price. I was fully reimbursed.
