curious really as to people’s reactions to idiots on the roads,
have you ‘had words’ with a car driver? even as words of advice?
in the lovely rain yesterday :doze:, while trying to kepp sight through all the mist produced by cars wheels,
i became stuck behind slowish moving traffic and the car in front of me had 2 of his 3 brake lights not working (the third being his high-level brake light which did work)
after following him for 200odd yards it was clear to me that my general reaction time to him slowing down was also slowing due to the lack of lights and heavy rain.
at the set of lights i pulled up to his window, tapped and asked him to lower it.
(in a pleasant voice)
“you’ve got no brake lights fella”
to which he replied “what none of them??”
almost in a kinder ‘im sure my high level is working’ tone (which irritated me )
to which i replied “just get it sorted mate its dangerous and braking the law” and rode off hoping he will get it sorted sharpish.
any else actual gone outer their way to prove a point/help others???
I regularly signal to people when they have left hazard lights or indicator lights on. That’s bikers, van drivers AND cars (and yes scooters or whatever else in between)…
Most people are good about it. Some get narky. Ive been told my indicator has been left on before. Its the same reason I thank anyone that pulls over when Im filtering. I think its just good road citizenship
I let people know if hazards or indicators are still flashing, others have done the same for me which is fine. Stops accidents happening. No skin off my nose.
Both my tail lights were out a while ago, I had no idea and this kind fella followed me flashing his lights for about 5-6 miles well out of his way just to let me know. (I knew I had one out, but there wasn’t much I could do about it at at the time) Was really amazed that he did that
If anyone is missing lights, or left lights on I usually try to let them know. Even if they don’t know why I’m flashing straight away then it might make them think later and check their lights eventually. It’s not a case of being arsey about people braking the law for missing a brake light or anything, just trying to help each other out
I agree! A driver the other day was all over the place in front of me as she chatted on her phone. She almost jumped into the passenger seat when I stuck my head in her open window at a set of lights and told her what I thought:D:D
I was on my way to work yesterday coming up Charing Cross road to go straight over towards Tottenham Court Road, Bendy Bus in the lane to go straight so I sit behind a Jag that was in the lane to go left, I thought he’d turn left & I could beat the bus over.
Lights go green, Jag or Bus didnt move & as the Jag was in the lane to turn left I tooted, Jag didnt move - quick rev, Jag didnt move & the lights had gone back to red with nobody moving. Sat there til the lights went green again and he still didnt move so I held my horn down and then revved - he moved forward, pulled over and was shouting at me so gave him the bird & then he tried to follow/hit me - I slipped in a gap between the roadworks and a bus & turned around to wave goodbye at him.
Not so much a rant but an ‘up yours’ to the driver of the Jag Had he been not been psychotic I would have told him he was in the lane to turn left
always try and let others know if they have left the indicators on or about brake lights etc if we both are stopped at the lights… Always been well received thus far… When I first started riding I kept finding myself telling drivers what I thought about all sorts of maneuvers - but a couple of months later I’d started to calm it down… never know what kind of d1ck you’re inviting trouble off!!!:w00t::hehe::w00t:
Titanium knuckles on gloves make a lovely noise on drivers windows, scares the crap outta them as well especially those on the phone. Works at all speeds as well.
The ones that get most from me are those that deliberately move across in traffic to stop you filtering, 6k revs and a tap on the window wakes the twats up.
