I saw her on ITV news today and thought she was rather good:) As I am yet to even wheelie my bike anyone that can do stunts like that gets a vote in my book She’s only been stunting too for 7 months, so give her a bit of time, in 7 years she might be better than Evil Knievel;)
She’s only getting any publicity because she’s not some hairy arsed bloke.
She’s hardly a ‘pro stunter’ when she can do a couple of poor wheelies and some burnouts. Some of the kids on scooters at the Ace are better than that.
As for the guy saying that it’s a dangerous sport 'cos he broke his wrist once, I’ve seen people do worse than that falling over in the street, doesn’t make walking dangerous though, does it!
Well if she’s as bad as i keep hearing then pretty damn sure the general public will see her for what she is and she’ll have had her 5 mins of fame then…NEXT!
Is she really that bad Adam? Excuse my ignorance, I don’t know much about stunting and I saw a couple of other threads with vids of her dropping her bike, but isn’t that part of learning? When you first started, did you drop your bike on occasions, possibly in front of a crowd?
I agree, the hooha around her is a bit much and an equally skilled male probably wouldn’t get as much attention - only if he had a big schlong I guess :D:P She’s pretty, young and a good story for the papers, that’s all.
As for the sexism allegations, it doesn’t surprise me and it’s probably something that needs to be expected when working in a male dominated area. However, does that automatically mean a woman has to accept sexist remarks? Water on a duck’s back as they say?
Don’t take this the wrong way (feminists, please), but if an attractive young female wanted to come and stunt with ME, I doubt I would be hostile to her.
The male-dominated world of motorcycles is gagging for more “nice ladies” on bikes, the last thing we’d do is put them off by being sexist.
engaged in a profession or engaging in as a profession or means of livelihood; “the professional man or woman possesses distinctive qualifications”; “began her professional career after the Olympics”; “professional theater”; “professional football”; “a professional cook”; "professional actors …
a person engaged in one of the learned professions
an athlete who plays for pay
master: an authority qualified to teach apprentices
I don’t know much about anything, but what I do know is that I can’t do any of that stuff and wished that I could even if it was badly
As long as she is not blowing her own trumpet then I don’t see what the problem is as it is the media that seems to be making more of a hoo haaa over it then her.
As some of the others have said, if she has only been doing it for 7 months, she still has plenty to learn and is not doing to bad in my eye.
Having said that, the only thing that stops me from trying is the money side of things, of course making mistakes and dropping the bike is all valuable parts of leaning and sometimes learning the hard way is the best way.
How ever if she irate’s people that much and you would like to donate a stunt bike for me to practice on, I will gladly work hard so that I can (try) kick many peoples ars in comps lol :w00t:
Its clever PR and with the best will in the world Ads it will take more than a few pints to bring you up to the same level in the looks stakes
It must be annoying for you guys though to suddenly see her name all over the news. She’s generating publicity for BSB at Brands at Easter far better than others on the stunt scene could. She’s played a good game.
Im not saying thats right. The danger for the established scene is all this bad feeling is going to just look like sour grapes and suddenly you’ve got another publicity coup. You’d be far better off ignoring it as the more people cry foul the more people will want to see what the fuss is.
