Yes I replaced the L1 that came with the Rukka jacket, with a L2 Forcefield insert.
knox under the jacket and what ever is in the jacket
I went for a level 2 forcefield back protector.
Nope, tried the forcefield one on and just couldnāt get comfy with the strapsā¦
Think I would get on better with the Knox one.
My Dainese leathers did not come with a back protector in so bought the insert for them. I donāt think I would wear one not inside the jacket as not sure I would find one thatās comfortable enoughā¦
Same here in one jacket and SAS TEC L2 in another.
Thinking of getting a separate Forcefield for off roading though ![]()
IXS Garuda £80 from J&S. Gillet style, well comfortable, officially Level 1 but when tested by Motorad Magazine it was a fraction off Level 2. Far better than the Ride Magazine reccommended Knox Riccochet I had before.
Forcefield L2 and a Forcefield chest protector
What do you mean āaftermarketā?
Also maybe invest in a chest protector lewis, here is one i think will fit you best

I have a Davies Ordell Forcefield. Probably the most comfortable piece of gear I own. I donāt even feel it once itās warmed up. Pull the āfoamā protector out of your jacket and decide whether that is what you want protecting the part of your body that holds your head up and controls the movement of your legs.
I want one of those āboobieā protectors lol!
On a serious note I wear a Knox protector with my one-piece and my textile jacket which only had a layer of crappy foam in it!
2 of my 3 jackets came with foam inserts, the other came with a proper CE protector but it feels a bit flimsy so I bought a level 02 forcefield insert and swap it between jackets as required.
What I mean is aftermarket, bought separate to your suit, jacket etc.
Melās got one, cant get on with it, maybe too small/big. Ive tried using it and cant get used to it.
Just wandered, when ever we get to a stop, most people I see dont have one. My suit has a foam one in it which im sure wont do naff all.
Backprotector shopping maybeā¦
MDDā¦love it, the moobs are really bouncing around currently.
I wear a Forcefield Sub 4 every time I ride, donāt ride without it
gonna fell very odd under the back hump tooā¦
Spidi level 2, really comfy, moulds to my back better than the forcefeild, warm too in the winter, but has vents and mesh so not too bad in the summer, so long as you can get some air into your jacket.
I doubt it, they feel odd at first but as said, they soon mould to your back after a few hours of wearing them.
You can get better quality inserts and Iāve found them way more comfortableā¦
True they wonāt beat the protection a standalone offers but it will be better than the foam.
I had the normal forcefield L2 back protector, that one that you wear. I couldnāt get on with it as I found that it constantly dug into my ribs and I found that irritating. So I sold it and got the most suitable insert for my jacket.
Does your leathers have a pocket for an insert?
