Do you have trophy mates?

I found out last night that I am a trophy mate for a bloke I thought was a friend… I have now been snubbed in favour of the new trophy mate! How crap is that! People can be so fickle!

Just think - every time you have a mate that you show off to other people - are you really friends?!

Really totally undermines anything we have ever done together and anything he has ever said!

Chin up Gabs, im sure someone else will want you in there trophy cabinet for a little while

That’s really crappy Gabs. You’ll never be my trophy mate :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol. Git. :stuck_out_tongue:

My other half is more than enough for me on the friendship and anything else stakes, but I had admitted this person into my very close circle of friends and he had TOTALLY abused that!

Right, Im off to buy a glass cabinet

What I guess Im really saying is, I thought his pride in me was as an actual friend, rather than as a trophy!

Im proud of my mates, too, but I dont just like them BECAUSE they are good racers or good looking or whatever…I mean…come on! Get real ffs!

All those conversations about being honest and true! GGRRRR!!!

Man’s a fool:w00t:

Like most trophies, did you have his name engraved on your bottom?

Fairweather friends you can do without, at least you know where you stand now hun x

im only small you can fit me in your cabinet if you want. I dont have one myself im too buisy making everyone elses cabinets look good… :smiley:Just out of curiosity, im guessing the mentioned friend wasnt Adam?

lol - thanks guys

nah - Adam is a sweetie and FAR more of an amazing person than he lets on or is given credit for.

Yeah i hear he is well adapt a mono wheeling , never saw him myself though… Have to bring him down again sometime, he’d look good in your cabinet aswell, well ok his bike would anyway… :w00t:

lol… he did say he enjoyed himself and might pop down again

i already have a zx10 to put in my cabinet  Its already in the lounge

Does it look as sweet as his though :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, its totally black…when Im on it, I more than make up for any discrepancies between the bikes :D:w00t:quickly checks her butt for engravingstheres a pic of it somewhere - lounge ornament thread…

Seen, i think it would look sorted with a few of those hearts you got today on it :w00t: Why arent you riding that anyway?

:D:D:D:D:D:D got to decide where to put them  maybe ill chat with Wasp

she is in for her 14,000 mile first year overhaul  not decided what im going to do to her yet - she is deffo getting a clean and a check up (yes, there will be a check of the valve clearances in there somewhere and no, I dont have a Haynes manual - I dont think they do them for the 07 ten?!)… after that, the amount of money that may or may not be spent on her is an unknown variable and depends entirely on other factors… i have a number of EXTREMELY expensive hobbies to feed.

besides, its my lounge trophy :w00t::D:P

seriously - trying to keep the miles down on her too - and i still have plenty of fun on Mark’s SV  Just need to change the fracking tyres lol…

You looked like you were having fun today

Do you like being a trophy for your mates? And which particular of your fine attributes do they seem to count on!? :stuck_out_tongue:

Saw him in action on the way to the 1057 after Fitchingfield - impressive

Every second on my bike is pure fun… its that much fun i never actualy get round to cleaning or maintaining her :w00t:No, i feel dirty and used :w00t: Hmm which of my fine attributes, well i would say my dashing good looks but i think my 6th gear wheelies do it

i dont…my close mates are close mates cos i get on very well with them…they help me in need…and i wil always be there when they are in need.

thats how it works?..

so whos upset one of me massive!!

You have my total sympathy PPG. I am often asked to attend film premieres and theatre opening nights by famous and pretty young actresses who just want to be seen on my arm.
None of them are interested in me as a person - they don’t care what my views on important subjects are, none ever ask me anything about things that I am passionate about, like my bikes.
Your post has given me the courage to tell them all to get stuffed! They can find someone else to give them credibility and sex appeal.
Therefore I can’t wait to get my arse up to the Ace/BM to meet my fellow LondonBikers - kindered spirits who are interested in me as a person - and not as a trophy that they can show off to the public. :hehe:

i have a very very fit mate (guy) other people (girls) always ask me to bring him with me when we go out…

hes my trophy ALL mine… mine i tell you BACK OFF!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

lucky he really is my best mate :hehe:

One should never mistake a acquaintance for a friend.

I have many acquaintances, with whom I chat happily and meet at a variety of places. I have few who I regard as friends.

Those few friends are however, most valued. I know they would support me through thick and thin. They in turn, receive the same level of support from me.

I had the opposite, I had a friend I’d known for years and when things started looking up for me, I got ditched. My luck is usually awful, but I had one good thing, and suddenly the invitations to go to the pub stopped coming…

They were the kind of person who would downplay anything exciting happening in your life. I remember their face when they first saw me in my motorbike gear - I wish I had taken a photo!!
