What a song and dance over a friggin hole in the wall.
Letās assume they are ceramic tiles.#
1: Put some masking tape on the wall.
2: Mark where you want to drill.
3: Use a sharp tile scribing tool (about 50p from B&Q and the like) to mark the centre.
4: Drill the tile with a proper tile drill (the spear pointy type things, another 50p) very stightly larger than the fixing plug size your going to use. (You are, arenāt you?)
5: Now youāve a hole through the tile, swap to a masonry drill to suit the plug and drill the brickwork behind.##
I could have got all of this done in less than the time taken to type this and Iām a friggin a********.
If they are porcelaine tiles, your in deep doo doo, so rent a professional.
I assume itās brick, or similar. If itās not, life needs to be adjusted.

hello mate have you done it? best thing is to use a nail :)ā¦give the nail a few taps to break the glaze on the tile (the reason your maisonry bit wont work!) then use a maisonry bit to drill the holeā¦if i was on a job and dint have a grano-glass bit or similar this method always worked a treat
