DIY bike alarms: Hawk alarm - anyone used this?

Has anyone used a Hawk alarm like this:

Is it as good as the advert says?

I’m wondering how much battery drain this would take and whether it’s useful or cumbersome. Does it interfere with the ignition or cause starting problems?

It’s incredibly cheap and I wonder if it’s a good alarm to use. Or if anyone has an alternative - please feel free to recommend.

Thanks!

my mate had that one and it was ok for a few weeks, then it would go off as he was riding down the road, pretty funny really lol, have a look for the cyclone one, i think it was about 30 quid, cheap but still works great for me today

ok there 20 quid by it now price

that looks like same 1 i got on my bike, was on there when bought it and does the trick.

dont bother with the hawk one, we fitted one to my mates bike and it stopped working after about 3 days.

fitted a couple of them, they do the job…
you can wire it up as a deterrent only, or option two makes it a decent immobilizer aswell…
£20 is not a fortune to replace if it goes wrong is it?
