It was veeery boring at work today, so I was trying to speed up the time a bit doing some inventions.
After last ride on sunday I was very sad that I didn’t have a digital camcorder, especially mounted on my bike.
So I tried to figure out how to fix my camera on the bike.
And there it is!!
It costed me…nothing ( I used a piece of old wine rack from work )
It took 2hrs to make it, if I would have more tools would be faster, but anyway, the longest time takes adjusting the angles of shooting, because when you want to make it steady the material needs to be hard, which means not easy to tamper with.
But I managed.It works great, it’s very stable, I used it in central London and no problems at all! I have few vids but I don’t know where to upload them, and second thing is that it was already dark so u can’t see too much anyway.
I took a couple of pics with my mobile just to show the idea.
It’s completely removable in 2 mins, no alterations in a bike whatsoever. On my 256MB SD can fit about 11mins so it’s enough just for fun. The only problem is that my camera records in Quicktime format, so the files are quite big. Does anyone know any software(freeware and simple prefferably!) to convert .MOV to .AVI or .MPG??
Might be better off getting one of those jobbies that goes under your nose cone and connects to your camera which is placed under the pillion seat. Someone on here will explain it better.
adobe premiere might…ive been trying to work out a way of doing that with mine as my 512 card will do 45 mins MJPG. Ill get some software on a dvd-r and give it to u when i next cu…one of em will do it!

At the moment is filming the revs, I can adjust the angle, but my speedo is from 0 to 280 MPH !!! so u wouldn’t see a speed clearly anyway

QuickTime is a very good format, for quality over size, it’s just you need to “repack” it as you’ll be using uncompressed .Mov format . I can give you Sorenson Squeeze which is about 30meg, or go to www.divx.com and they’ve got a new “Divx” creator which you can download for free and it’s basic drag and drop functionality.
