diesel victim

Hello LB’s!!

On my way to work, yesterday, just about 100 yards from my house i fell off my bike due to diesel on the road! I managed to hold the bike but my my right leg wasn’t strong enough and had to drop it slowly and made a small scratch in the exaust! i had the bike for only 4 days and i’m really upset!

Question:

Is it worth complaining to the council?

unlucky to hear about that mate. the council won’t really do much to be honest. At least you aren’t hurt though

You should always report diesel to the police on 999. The next rider might not be so lucky.

Unlucky!

You should report the spill to the Council so other people aren’t also put at risk like you are. Where’s your sense of community spirit? If he spill was logged with them before then you may have grounds for a claim, but it’s unlikely.

And don’t worry about a small scratch, that adds character to a bike, and all bikes get damaged at some point, it’s inevitable.

Sorry to hear about this Miggy:angry:

At least it’s only a small scratch and you aint hurt:)

The council won’t be interested but you should report it to the police.

Forgot to mention that i did reported to the police! I do not wish this to happen to any one!!

It was on woodside park road about 600 yards from the station, if anyone goes that way!!

Aw mate, glad your ok and its only a small scratch, just a real shame as I know how pleased you are with your new baby.

sorry to hear that mate but things could have gone a lot worse so not to bad.

How does so much diesel get onto the roads?

I have had 3 near misses but can’t understand why there is so much of it about

???

Glad you’re OK mate. Went to school around there, Finchley High !

There was a metre wide band of diesel running from Victoria Embankment left into Savoy Place at 4:15. I could smell it from the opposite side of the road as I turned into the Embankment. It has been reported.

Sorry to hear about that mate but at leat you are ok and thats the main thing!!!

Sorry to hear about that mate, i know how you feel i did the same on a diesel patch a while back.

Barnet Council are pretty good over diesel spills and potholes - worth reporting that sort of thing to them; I do so quite often.

They express gratitude for being told. With the best will in the world they can’t monitor every inch of road 24/7 so rely on people reporting hazards to them.

Yes, I live in North Finchley and no, I don’t work for the Council!:stuck_out_tongue:
