Diesel Spillage

Hi all, just thought i would mention something which left me positively satisfied the other day.

I was driving my bus down the A3 towards kingston from Roehampton, where i then had to turn off at the Robin hood way/ Kingston vale junction. On approaching the traffic lights i could see, just before the lights on the bend a massive patch of diesel :pinch:!! It could not have been there very long as the tyre marks leading out of it were very few. I promptly got on the Band 3 radio of the bus and called code red to centre comm which is the emergency procedure for the London Buses.

After what seemed like an eternity trying to explain to the radio operator where exactly the spillage was, i carried on my journey hoping it would be dealt with promptly. About 7 mins further into my journey i had an unexpected radio call from Centre Comm telling me that the fire brigade HAD cleaned up the dangerous slick!! :w00t: I thought that was absolutely incredible in how quick they had dealt with it, so much so, i thought i had misunderstood. Needless to say on my way back i made a note to check and sure enough there was a large patch of adsorbent stuff.

Now that is a junction where sometimes vehicles try to speed up just before the lights just to cross incase they change, imagine a biker doing that just on the bend!!! Fortunately no one had any problems that day and i got a real buzz knowing i did good.

Well done you:D have a big pat on the back, you probaly saved someone some pain and money;)
