Getting more expensive to fillup. The price of petrol is getting over a £1 some stations. I am thinking of diesel engine motorbike.

1 quid to a liter…4 liters to a gallon…4 quid per gallon…2 bucks per quid…or roughly 8 bucks per gallon.

I filled up my car yesterday at $2.69 per gallon.

Diesel, unless I am mistaken, has been more expensive than petrol for at least 18months now…

my man would like a diesel bike … you can run a diesel on veg oil…

but i never told you that lol . my man puts it in his car . it runs better with veg oil than just diesel but you always feel like a plate of chips when you get out the car :w00t:

I tried to run my bike on diesel, unwitingly put some in on a long boring motorway journey last year, must have been one of those light blue special diesel nozzle pumps. I could be colour blind…or just stupid.

Got about 10 miles, wouldn’t recomend it. I did mention to the RAC man ( which i had to join on the hard shoulder, only £120!) that it begs the question, why didn’t we have deisel motorbikes.

I feel proud to have been involved in some early reasearch.

I know that the Army have wanted a diesel bike for ages as every other vehicle is now an oil burner and it would make the logistics easier to have one common fuel. I recon someone like BMW would be on the case already. Lets face it, they have made some amazing diesel cars recently:cool:

There are a couple being developed, one has a Rotrex supercharger to make it powerfull enough to be of any use, small diesel engines are really only useful as generators or lawnmowers :stuck_out_tongue:
