Did this road last Saturday

Here is a vid (by someone else, not me) of the route I and some riders out here took last Saturday morning:

It was non-stop curves with amazing views of either the forest or mountains (not shown very well on the vid). The road is the BV 5114 and I was challenged constantly, trying to keep up with the more experienced riders who are used to this kind of thing. I had a good few moments, but managed to keep the SM under control, I even got a handle on the dodgy gear changing and started really looking into the corners, but I honestly don’t know how people can go as fast as they were!

A Google map of another route in the area that day:

Gona have to come over after tour for a blast with my bikes

Looks loverly! I’m jealous. Glad you’ve got to grips with your gearbox now  Is it really that bad on the Huskys?

Welcome anytime!

I don’t know if it’s all Huskys, but the problem seems to be occur on SM610s, although I’m putting it in for a service and the mechanic said he will do me some oil with a special addivitve (aparently he blends his own!).
People coming from the average IL4 Japanese bike, for instance, might not be used to the hardcore gears of a MX/ SM bike which is why there might be more complaints than is necessary about the gears on the Husq.
We’ll see after the service, when I get back from London, I’m going straight back to the mountain to give it another go

PS. started editing the vid I took - it looks soo slow! hehe. I’ll put it up here for people to rip into when I’m done.

Mate i’ll be sure to venture over after tour

Oh and i think its the same with the SD problem. Those going from an IL4 are used to smooth throttle all the way but me coming from a sumo single to a twin find it smoother, lol.

Nice road Garret, we`re doing it a week on Saturday afternoon in the reverse direction.

Asbo, it`s part of the “Bear Hunt” route.

Just you wait till next year… rideouts galore

Only ten tank fills to the start of the road then.

Id be on the SD for a ride like that :stuck_out_tongue:

Finally got my vid up, may the slanging match begin  -

BTW, this is not exactly the same road, but it shows very similar curves towards the end of the vid.
I’m well practised at getting left behind, I know.

Didn’t watch the whole vid but from what I saw, you’re positioning for the bends is spot on!

Just need to remember to keep that power on through the bends and slowly wind it up as you exit, that’ll keep you on a more stable line and straighten you up nicely for the exit!

Was you backing it in @ 3.08 ?

@ rogueriderUK - thanks for the advice

@ Tel - possibly, but it would have been by accident. I was having probs changing down gears though, so doubt it.

The bike has just had a 10K service and is running sweet, so I can’t wait to get back to give it another try!

Well Garrett we rode the first part of this route today from Sava down to the main road into BCN. It was covered in branches and pine needles as there had just been a monsoon and hailstorm, but we still enjoyed it:) if we had to take it a little slower than we would have liked.

Great news.
Sorry we missed each other (I’m back now).

Then again, I’m not sorry I missed the rain:
