bloody cold even in the car and I saw sooooo many tw*ts in cars who just cannot be bothered to clear their windows I just cringe, it’s hard enough to see with the bright sunlight, and add to that slippery roads…well, just wanted to check!
Nice and safe at home today thanks mate.
It was like Muppet Treasure Island out there last night though. Ride safe chaps.
I had to! But seriously cold! I froze on my way here!!! Don’t want another winter!!! Noooo!
LOL
Me too, nice and safe at home awaiting new sofa. But then again, I’ve a puncture, so couldn’t go far anyway.
Any tips about taking the back wheel off? Other than do it in above zero temperatures.
Helps if you have a rear paddock stand! Watch the chain adjusters as well, mine seized in the ZX7 and I landed up having to replace the swingarm when the bolt snapped off and we couldn’t shift it. While tyhe wheel is out, a good clean of the swingarm and brake caliper can be done. Make sure you grease up the wheel spindle before you put it back in. Also, take out the chain adjusters and grease them up as well. Cant remember the nut size but you will probably need a socket on each side to hold it secure. Make sure you have a new split pin to put back in the castle nut when you put it all back together.
Sometimes it helps to leave the castle nut on the spindle and tap with a hide mallet to get the spindle out.
Got a tubeless repair and air kit if that’s any use?
Cheers Chuffster, I’ll take that all under consideration.
Now I’m really scared :-o
When I watched the tyre guy it all seemed so simple… but he removed it only last month and so it should come out without bits seizing and snapping I hope.
Mini-Mo, ta very much, but not a great fan of repair kits esp if it means DIY. Would put me off next time I lean in to a bend. Besides which, I can’t see where the air is getting out so I’m thinking the valve is leaking. Ho hum.
Keep ya’ll posted (pun intended) :~)
I got here okay … on the tube.
I know, I know … but by the time I’ve got my gear on, unlocked the bike, got her out the garage, carved through solid traffic for the entire journey, parked her up, locked her up, gone into the office and taken my gear off again … I could do the journey twice on the tube!
If your gonna change the tyre chuck some tyre foam(from any garage) in it and ride to the shop
I didn’t even make it out of bed this morning, my bedroom is freezing, so just snuck even deeper under my duvet. Braving the elements now, and tucking into my breakfast: muesli and coffee (not together of course).
Ah, to be a bear…
Was coming home from nights this morning jeez was it cold, got to get a neck tube as the bandana the kids bought me for fathers day and balaclava aint warm enoughfor the winter really.
Had no trouble with the roads apart from t6he Prats who actually drive their cars with a postbox scraped from the ice on the windscreen???
H
I had to pick the KTM up from Brackens this morning, so after I’ve sorted out the flat rear tyre on Jans Blade, we were two up to Brackens and then I went off to Fulham. Gotta say it was colder on the KTM, but more fun.
Exactly what I’m eating and drinking
Now what adventure to go on today?
I went back to bed… A bit of a nap (1.5h), as that hour that I was up exhausted me! Now I’m ready to face the world: Infinity (I want one of those Rukka chest/neck/balaclava thingies), Selfridges (sexy underwear for the christmas party?), M&S (I wonder if they do pyjamas with thermal lining), and then back home. Full day, huh? Well, one day I have to return to work, just not quite yet!
Selfridges (sexy underwear for the christmas party?),
really looking forward to that now!!!
maybe that can be the theme…for the girls of course!
Dug out the full winter gear for this morning. Thermal T-shirt, microfleece and heavey winter jacket, plus lined trousers - lovely and warm. Have to drop the bike off in Hanwell for a service this afternoon so hopefully it won’t be too cold on the way back…
.
