Just bought the Knox one mentioned - the 6-pack - with the built in laptop bag.
Friggin’ ace it is too. Gonna get a review done and posted when I’ve got time to do it, but right now it’s really impressive. I’ve a Dell Studio 15" and a Logitech cooling base, both of which fit into the laptop bag together. This attaches to the back of the pack via elastic ties so you can pull it forward to remove said laptop. The laptop case is pretty cool, logoed too, and can be used on its own.
Bag also has a velcroed visor bag and a waterproof bag for your helmet once you’ve loaded it into the mesh on the back of the rucksack for carrying.
Whether it’s waterproof I can’t vouch. But hell a binbag will ensure the laptop doesn’t get wet whatever.
Picture the scene, Lou comes home from work and I’m hopping from foot to foot with excitement with my new Knox backpack. I rattle on about the laptop case etc etc and she just looks at me and says:
“Didn’t they do Kreiga?”
Down I go like a house of cards.
Guess I’m not cool enough for Kriega also. Nor I suspect could I afford one. Perhaps the two facts aren’t unrelated.
Now now let’s not get carried away here… Don’t mess with David Lynch
I think I’ve made up my mind and it looks like I’ll be going with the Kriega… It looks to be the most comfortable and I cannot fault the US-20 I have already so I am remaining brand loyal. The only thing left now is to get my laptop from work and just double check that it will fit in the R35 (I’m hoping I don’t get a brick laptop)…
This does not change the fact that Pan needs to change his bike…
Just to add to this, I carry a macbook in a normal rucksack in a neoprene sleve. None of that is waterproof, but you’d probably have to actually go swimming before water is going to penetrate through the fabric, through the sleeve, and enough into the laptop to cause it damage.
