datatool alarm problems

please help. i have a triumph daytona 600 that i ahve just bought second hand, and it has a datatool system on it, however the alarm keeps going off every minute. my partner tried to disarm it by pressing and holding the key fob until the indicators flash, but this hasnt helped, and even when you are not near the bike, the alarm is going off. please can someone advise me on how to change the sensitivity of the alarm, or how to disarm it completely until i can take it to a local dealer.

thankyou.

type in datatool in your search engine goes straight to there website, and you can look up/download manual for it. or if you quick phone them hope this helps

if it’s like mine , you disarm it “one beep” then turn on the ignition and then press and hold till it beeps = service mode …it’s beeps but won’ t go off

on mine you arm it with the smaller button 2 beeps,

then press the larger button 1 beep for service mode.

mines the datatool 3

hard to help much without seeing it but …

where is the actual alarm unit/box located and what is it fixed to ?

you get 3 spare wires on a system 3 , there accessory wires and 1 can be attached to give extra sensitivty , it may well be attached on your bike

let me know where the units located and il dig out my books to see if i can remember which wire it is

I have a mate who fitted a Datatool amd had similar problems.

Professional help didn’t fix it and it ended up being junked.

My insurance company has er… suggested that I should have one fitted. I haven’t done so, which means I am on my own if the bike gets pinched but at least I havn’t been lynched by the neighbours!

Last weekend I was at a Triumph meet, and most of them have either taken out their data tool alarms, or have disabled them.

www.t595.net

This is their website, and I am sure that they will be able to help.

Datatool is an anogram of dogsh**

Scrap it!!!

are they really that bad!!! I’ll not be happy if mine goes loopy… I’d jsut find out which one it is and give a trumpet dealer a call and ask them…

I havn’t read the manual enough for mine to understand how to arm the immobilser with no alarm vs the whole kit and caboodle!!

no such thing as a good alarm , had issues over the years with each and every one of them ,

*^&%$^%& alarms !!! mines decided to immobilise bike nice one, but wont fuggin disarm !!! so its either going to a dealer for removal or Im now waiting for datatool to contact me with a mobile fitters number to sort it

Still i wanna say thanks to Dawnie1968’s other half nigel for getting me outta the crap by lending me his VFR, will narrow the chicken strips for ya matey :D:D

wonder if i gotta wash the bugger before i give it back ?

HAHA - Unlucky Steve! Seems these things are the kiss of death… just be a matter of time before mine goes me thinks!! I do have a triumph after-all so its bound to breakdown because of something

As my friends on t959.net know, to disable a datatool alarm is actually quite easy, just need to know the pin numbers for the model numbers.

It is always 1 and 2 to bridge, and the other 2 pins depend on the model!

The user manual for the Datatool System 3 alarm says there are 3 customization wires (White, yellow and brown) to make adjustments with, does anyone know where they are, I can’t find them. HELP!!
