Dangerous Undertaking of a Motorbike and Aggressive Behaviour

Well glad your observant steer clear of him if you see him again and report him to the police

aren’t there a couple of coppers on this forum, would be worth seeing what they think of the video and whether it’s worth reporting him based on that.

i’d have been off the bike after the second one, let alone the third. what a c*nt

It’s not that I purposely don’t want to report it. I would happily do so if it didn’t involve pages-long report to fill in and a visit to the local Police station, both of which will be just a waste of time.

I have reported a similar incident in the past with even less favourable outcome. I have supplied a DVD with the footage as well to the Police along with the report, but I never heard back from them. I have similar experience with reporting ASB on my estate and theft, so I am doubtful that the outcome will be any different.

The video is out in public, so if comes to it, I will happily cooperate, but for now I simply cannot be bothered based on my past experience. Sad reality.

So far it sounds like the consensus is that he was in the wrong. Well, I’ll be blunt here and disagree.

You got undertaken, well that happens in London. Bit rude, but whatever.

You try to “catch up with him” and “try to overtake him” <- is where you went wrong and lose the driver’s moral high-ground. You’re entering a race at this point and you know that full well. Obviously you lost, and in so doing managed to put yourself in danger by overestimating your ability to get past him (125?) and underestimating his ability to shut you out (2L Golf?). You then had another go, and made exactly the same mistake again, and managed to give him the perfect opportunity to “push [you] off into the oncoming traffic”.

This is all you putting yourself into harm’s way with someone who wasn’t willing to stop you from hurting yourself.

You need to chill out before you get a bigger motorbike. So the VW driver was a prick, the rest was your fault.

The police will do **** all. Fact.

Well, first of, I wasn’t trying to race him, so you are over interpreting it. I have already pointed out that the traffic has slowed down and the last lot of cars that was sitting at the lights was only beginning to move. I wasn’t chasing him, why would I? I was filtering as a way of riding/commuting just like 95% of us. Do you really sit in the traffic everytime? Even on a 50cc? Bollocks. I can filter, so I will do so. I didn’t look for him, I only realised it was him when he started accelerating after he saw me. I wasn’t planning on telling him off.

Why did I approach him for the 3rd time? Well, I wanted to look into the eyes of someone who just purposely tried to hurt me and get his face on the camera to make sure he can see himself on the Internet.

I am not aggressive, otherwise I will be there shouting at him, but instead I am just silent focusing on the road. I agree, I need a lot more time on it and I am not in the rush to get a bigger or better bike. I am happy for it to get me from A to B and it’s there, not stolen after I finish work.

Your video looks like you were chasing him, it has you behind him doing 30mph (0:42) you sped up to 37 (0:50) as you went to over take… it’s a 30 limit. You weren’t just minding your own business at that stage, you wanted in-front of him

Me, I won’t say what I would have done  - but I’m not the one posting videos up.

I can assure that wasn’t the case.

I was overtaking him, yup, but I only began to accelerate when this lovely chap has started to close up the gap in the front of me. I agree and I wasn’t doing anything crazy. Sometimes it’s safer to accelerate to get you out of crap when you pass the point of no return  and clearly, I was underpowered for this manoeuvre. It doesn’t change the fact he still took advantage of it to make his blood point by putting someone else in danger. Simply put, it was a deliberate action on his part and I would have been perfect safe to carry on, had he not decided to take his action.

Anyway, I know that there are some lessons from it for me too and I hope for others like me as well…

still 37 in a 30 on video might land you in trouble. Maybe drop Rusty a message and ask him. I dont think you did much wrong, but the bottom line is steer clear of twats like that. the other option is remove this video and hit the editing studio.

So, looks like it’s best to take the video offline and not report it the Police. Seriously, great justice and a result. I will get punished before this geezer… and everyone is surprised that people are disillusioned about the system…

On a bike sometimes you have to really pick your moment. Some people (polite version) really don’t want you overtaking them. This was very clear. I would have let him be until I could safely filter past on a smaller bike, probably when he was stuck between stationary cars.

That’s just the circle of life

Don’t let it get you down

Frustrating mate. Don’t let it get you down, i don’t think you did anything wrong. But the letter of the law etc etc.

Agreed.

So i missed the video ?

Yup, it’s a fiver now if you want to watch it.

 what is posted on the internet, stays on the internet forever
