Just got a PCN though from wandsworth council for a contravention on Montserrat Road in Putney.
Theres a bike bay just on the corner there (in fact on the day saw a black R1 covered in LB stickers in the bay too). I was into the bay nose first. I backed out and headed for putney high street oblivious that the road was one way. Must have been all of 10 yards and heres a 120 squid fine for travelling the bleeding wrong way. Feck arse nuns!

i guess its also proof that that bike bay has good camera coverage Maybe i’ll put up a praise thread for that bike bay, and a shame thread for the operator of the camera. Operator 666 more like.

make sure the one way was clearly sign posted.
you could even go down the road of demanding to see the camera operatives credentials - they have to qualified and most arent! (at least not right away).
Is it me or are these cameras that were installed to make the public safer. They are just been used to squeeze more money from the motorist.
the above ie the way ahead, you really need to check the signs on the posts to and ensure they are visible to you (depending on where you entered the road)
or you can just say your plate has been cloned and argue the toss with them, it could be worth a go

One way is one way reguardless ho long the road is.
If you got off it and walked the bike up the wrong way can you get done for it.

I did a couple of illegal turns at the oval this morning to avoid the road works… I was thinking there might be a camera watching the area so I hope the operator was having his breakfast when I did it…
Don’t mean to be nasty, but it is.
It’s also a no right turn for traffic going down the High St. towards the bridge, but so many people don’t care about that - where was the camera operator then eh!
Disraeli is also one way (other direction). In fact all the roads around the High St. that have bays are one ways if I remember correctly.
At least the majority have anchors.
