cyclist on the A12

Anybody else seen the guy, sure it’s not illegal, but i wish he wouldn’t filter down the outside refusing to move over for the faster movers behind.

On the A3 this morning just north of Clapham North there were loads of cyclists offsiding the islands - several nearly hit bikes “doing the right thing” but not doing a life saver for things comming the wrong side of the island.

what made me laugh about this guy is that I followed behind at a reasonable distance, didn’t harass him or try to get him to move. When his exit came as he pulled off he called me a wa**er, strange man

Which bit of the A12 you talking about?

Damn, as a cyclist it makes me want to punch other cyclists lights out when they behave like this. Well done for not pressuring him, then he does that…gggrrr!!!

Here at work I’m a member of the Bicycle User Group and the other day I posted about cyclists jumping red lights and there are some very angry cyclists here about those that do jump them. They don’t want to be tarred with the same brush, it’s like accusing all motorbikers of doing silly speeds down the bus lanes, good and bad in all types of vehcle users I’m afraid.

I’m very much a biker and very much a cyclist, I’ll stick up passionatlely for the good ones in both factions.

He joined at the same time as me, from the bow roundabout from Stratford, down to the exit before the Blackwall, is where he left the A12. I carry on through the tunnel.

So his journey is the north side of the river

yes, me too. I probably do more miles on a moto now, but for a long time I’d ride a bike anywhere.

It’s bad when moto riders get labelled as aggressive and equally bad when all cyclists are labeled trfffic light jumpers.

I always take the view that moto and cycle riders are equally vunerable and should be able to get along.

My thoughts exactly, both two wheeled warriors eh!

Surely cyclists aren’t allowed on that stretch?

Even if it is legal, he must be bloody mad to go down there.

They’re aren’t any signs saying he can’t. It’s not the first cyclist I’ve seen braving that road, but he was the first to move over to filter between the middle and outside lane.

If this is the part of the road that i think it is, it used to be the A102(M) but was reclassified to the plain ol’ A12 when the rest of its length was built.

I know for sure that cyclists (and pedestrians and mopeds) are not allowed southbound from Wanstead, but I’m not sure how far that restriction goes. I’ll try and remember to keep an eye out for the signs tonight.
