Did anyone read the story in the press today about the cyclist who rode into somebody and killed them ? he got 300 hours community service n 12 months suspended, you try it in a car or on motorbike and see what you get.

When you read this article did you not take into consideration that the cyclist “vulnerable young man with learning difficulties”
This is how the judge described him.
Agreed it’s a sad accident but would giving him a stiff sentance really help anything?
Thats it im after all cycle riders.
Car drivers and bikers have been jailed for simply speeding at 150+ mph, no injuries caused to anybody so why shoud this chap who killed somebody get off with a stiff talking to and a bit of community exercise when other people have been jailed for far less ?
Learning difficulties can mean so much, it’s a spectrum as wide as the number of people in the country and it’s no excuse is it ! Could I use the same excuse (if I had LD) if I killed a ped in my car by driving on the pavement ?
He should at the very least spend a year in a low security prison or whatever they call them these days.
