Croft Circuit likely to close

Well I know it’s a long way away but it is on the BSB calendar, and is a great track to ride.

More relevantly for us, this crazy case sets a nasty precedent for all those moaning minnies who bought a house next to a race circuit, cheaply presumably because everyone knows it will be noisy during the summer, to then sue the circuit because of the noise.

Mind, you’ll notice the court has ordered the circuit to pay what is only a 1/6th or so of the claimant’s whopping legal costs lol.

What complete borroks - I’d love to live next to a racetrack

imagine if you did though, every person you heard going down it would make you pine to be there too

That makes my blood boil!!! HOW DARE the circuit set up and start making noise next to the the Watson’s house! Oh, what, the circuit has been there for nearly 90 years and the Watsons, how long? Oh, well excuse me!

What sort of morons move next to a circuit and complain about noise? It’s not like it’s possible to buy a house like that and not know about the circuit. Hell, it’s not even legal to sell a property without disclosing all the significant points like that.

So clearly this is another case of residents trying to get the circuit shut down so they can raise their house-prices (what good is that in the middle of a housing market crash?). This shouldn’t be legal, but yet again, there is no common-sense in our legal system, just a bunch of self-lubricating old farts protecting their own interests. Wonderful.

I tell you what, why don’t we all just give up biking now and take up something nice and quiet like knitting?

Argh!

I bet the Watsons are going to have a lot of broken windows and bikes/cars making a noise outside now. Nice one dick-heads.

knitting? you crazy!

all those sharp objects are offensive weapons and the constant click-clacking of knit1/pearl1 would result in a noise abatement order at forum meets! not to mention the wool could be used for hanging someone and the fluff from it might go down someone’s throat and choke them!

the question now is, would that make bikers seem more or less of a public nuisance?

Lets hope so!

Well lets hope that’s the Watsons chosen ‘sport’ then?!?

I do hope that the £550,000 legal bill that they have been landed with means they have to sell their house and move! :stuck_out_tongue:

How about a ride out to their road to show them what real noise is! :stuck_out_tongue:

My name is Watson and I take exception to the previous posts. Not everyone wants a race circuit on their doorstep, I have enough problems parking in my street as it is.

Yours, Binkie Watson (aka Jetstream)

Evening Binkie.

Random, and amusing, as ever.

I thought you parked in your front room so that the German bitch could keep an eye on you nearest and dearest.

No the french windows are still a far off dream.

Think I’ll buy a truck load of those 12mm shotgun bore alarm mines, and set them off randomly during the night around those c**t’s house.

They’ll move sharpish

It’s like moving to Heathrow and then complaining about aircraft noise! The Watsons are obviously a family of fugging retards.
