Ouch! Glad to hear the injuries weren’t serious at least…

Hey there Stephen… Sorry to hear about your accident… Hope you recover quickly!!!

sorry to hear that steven, get well soon mate

Hope that you heal fast. The bike is a shame, but as you say, is repairable in time. Sounds to me like you hade a bit of a close call.

Bad news Stephen, least you are around to tell the story. Hope you and bike recover soon.

Sorry to hear, get well soon.

Ah Stephen, no way! My condolences First and foremost, you aren’t seriously hurt, sounds like you got away quite luckily with minor injuries that will right themselves relatively quickly. It’s all too easy to miss a vital situation going on, on the road! I hope you repair the bike as well, it’s a bit difficult to see the full extend on the damage.

Keep us updated, and remember we’re here to help in any way we can!

thanks guys, since i posted my insurance company have had a company called bikers legal direct call me, they offered me a hire bike and helmet and want the reciepts for my lid, they are saying that they will be claiming off of the drivers insurance, thing is i thought that it was my fault so havin some trouble understanding how they can claim off her insurance, when i asked they said somethin about comparative liability coz she should of seen me in her mirrors coz she didnt turn untill after i was beside her,

i’ve turned down the hire bike for now coz theres no way i can ride yet anyways so they gonna call next week and ask again, plus i’m a little worried that if they dont/cant claim on her insurance then i’l be left with a bill i cant afford to pay

the insurance assesor is comin over tuesday morning, i know exactly what he gonna say - it’s beyond economical repair, the fairings alone brand new sprayed up etc will be well over a grand, plus the radiator & bracket, generator cover, water bottle, headlight, bracket for the clocks is bent up, so theres no way they will repair it, i dont want them to rite it off, would rather fix it myself

This can only be a good thing Stephen. Whilst I think in most of our hearts, we wouldn’t wish undue burdon put on another person for something which might not be so cleanly cut their fault, the driver did have an obligation to ensure that their path was clear for the manouver they were performing, which it wasn’t in your case.

So I think it’s entirely correct that your insurance company is pursuing this course of action, and as you say, it can only help to ease the short-term troubles you face with repairs and recovery. I also get the feeling having a 50/50 blame outcome to this claim will partially help your future premiums, as opposed to having it a 100% blame outcome.

All the best with healing and getting this sorted, keep us informed (perhaps with some pictures if they become available!).

Sorry to hear your bad news fella but hey you live to ride again bikes come an go, had the same kinda accident as you about eighteen months ago got offered a 50/50. Bit their arm off bike a write off give me half the 3 grand it was worth in the end plus kept the bike so it is possible to get something back heal soon mate .

as promised heres a couple of pics of my shoulder when i changed the dressing a couple of days ago, doesnt really look too bad, but fook did it hurt, and then it hurt alot more when they used a scrubbing brush to clean it out

Arrr, Ghostie! STOP RIDING BIKES! You’re hearby banned for a period of two weeks to heal yourself and get everything in order! Damn, bummer about the frame!
