crash helmets

Has anyone got any experience of the NOLAN N84 n-com ? I was viewing one yesterday at hein gerricks luton and it seems a lot of helmet for the price £140 as it has pinlock plus drop down sunvisor on outside, useful for glasses wearers like me as I tried a caberge and internal visor wouldnt drop past them.

good helmet, lots of features. Bluetooth kit cost more then the lid tho i believe :w00t:

I had a Nolan N-101 flip lid with the visor, the visor was very usefull and the lid was quite comy. For the money you can`t go wrong but the padded lining acroos the forhead got thin over a couple of years and started to give me head aches.

My N-102 is excellent, and in good nick after two years of everyday use. The pinlock gets a bit tired (lets water in from above in heavy rain) after a yr and a half, but that’s probably fair enough. New Visor and pinlock fitted. No problems since.

Think I might invest in one after xmas, plus the guy in shop said I can use his for a whizz up the motorway to see what its like as you cant tell how noisy a lid is till you go riding in it. If I remember right the n-com system is an extra £80 so all in all seems very good value.

For £80, you’ll be talking about the N-Com wired system. The Bluetooth is significantly more than £100 iirc

I’ve had the N-84 since last Christmas and use it every day. It’s been great for me. I don’t have much experience of other helmets so can’t compare the noise on them but it was reasonable enough to me. I’ve done a couple of motorway journeys and wasn’t completely deafened.

As you say it seems a good deal for £180. I’ve no idea about the n-com system- I just tuck earphones in under the helmet for music, but if it’s any good, stick a post on here?

I do same as you just stick earphones in to listen to music, but deffo gonna get one in the new year, funds tight at the moment or would get it now
