How long before commercial diesel with very low tax (e.g. from the continent where most house heating systems use the same diesel that goes in cars, just with added colour) will be brought in the country and circulate on the black market on a large scale?
It already happens a lot on the content (people fil their car with their household diesel) and there the price of diesel is a lot lower already.
That sounds like a cr*ap idea. 1 that’d be just 16.67 tank fulls on one 1 of our cars!
There already is - saw on the news a band of Polish going round nicking petrol out of HGV’s - the pump they run even uses the HGV’s own battery for power!!!
I’d get on fine with 1500 litres a year. 1500 litres will get me about 23k miles (@ 70mpg, which is reasonable). I suppose I might use a couple of hundred litres on the odd times I hire a car, but I still reckon I’d hardly get much over half of 1500l/year.
Small engine sizes do have a point, you know
