It was HEAVILY featuring bikes and all the ways in which the police are trying to ruin our fun.
You heard it here first folks - our days are numbered!
There was one guy who fell off and ended up in a ditch after hitting a partridge at 60mph! and another falling off his African Twin and clipping a horse!
There was one thing that interested me though - they showed a copper with a Laser3 speed gun clocking some kid doing 124mph in his VW Lupo - the narrator said that this was close to the lasers limit.
I’m thinking that maybe these lasers may only be able to reliable clock about 130mph - does that mean that if you do 130mph plus theres not a laser gun in the land that can verify your speed?
Agree with Johnp here, it didn’t seem particularly antibike.
The bit with the pheasant hitting the guy on the cbr in the helmet was quite serendipitous for me, as I’d been out for a post work blast on the bike down some narrow country lanes and noticed quite a few dead pheasants and lots of these flying bricks in the fields.
it was a good programme showing the police cracking down on dangerous riding/driving etc… Also on them helping people out. The big picture is that you go as fast as your right hand twists the throttle. They have a job to do. Just remind me not to speed in Lincolnshire area with the Police Hayabusa prowling around. My brother lives up that way!
I saw it to and the biggest memory is that poor bikers face after the pheasant hit him. (But still had a sense of humour!) How the hell he didn’t do more damage I don’t know?
I guess when asked he can say he was hit by a bird!
PS: Didn’t feel it was particularly anti-bike. In fact the Hayabusa Copper was defending the bikers until the full story started to unfold.
I felt sorry for the guy on the SP who got pulled, but at the end of the day (from what I could fathom) the reason he got pulled was cos he was caning it through a 30 limit. I think that’s what tends to grab the coppers attention generally.
Well I find that they DO ruin my fun - I dont like to spend half my time worrying about the 5 to 10 mph I may be going over the limit because knowing my luck i’ll get mr jobsworth! I’ve got better things to do than to look away from the road and glance down at my speedo. Just this morning (about 30 mins ago) Vauxhall Bridge Road - new speed cameras put up, biker infront didnt know they were there so i see him glance down at his speedo - by the time he looks up he realises the cars infront have stopped - he slams on the anchors and luckily stops in time.
Now hang on - i know what you’re going to say - he should have left room. But be real - this is London and if you leave an inch a Cyclist will take your spot - 2 of them pulled out me this morning! How that breed isnt wiped out by natural selection I dont know.PS - I never said they were anti bike - but i think an officers time could be put to better use than lying in wait for an easy kill.
