Colin Collins GSXR750 Demo bike Stolen

This was taken yesterday out side the shop, a guy had just test rode it and they were all inside. Then some one broke steering lock and pushed it around the side road and loaded it in a back of a van, and was away. Its an 06 in blue and white.

more like the geezer who test rode left the lock off and while keeping them busy inside his mates pushed it around the side road and loaded it in a back of a van, and was away sounds a bit conveniant…

Yea when I got to CC yesterday Stewart had just come back from the police station and was telling me about it… They’ve got it on CCTV but I doubt nothing will be done about it. Ryan’s 2004 GSX-R750 got stolen from outside there too a little while ago, its not good really

Or Or wot bout this, bloke who test road it went and got a key cut?

I see they provide decent security for customers bikes when they visit said shop then?

All sounds a bit dodgy to me!!!

Yeah me too. I know you really want one Foxy but give the nice people their bike back…

Its impossible to get a key cut as the keys have to be sent off to Suzuki and you can’t get a key cut without the Master Key anyway, which Colin Collins would have never gave out…

It seems Bike Theft is increasing more and more and not enough is being done about it, the police just don’t give a f**k and that’s why the theives get away with it so easily… Even with alarms, disc locks and chains they can still evade getting caught and have the bike in the back of the van before you can say “Now I know I left my bike around here somewhere?”

The question is, “What can we really do about it?”

Obviously more security for your bike is an option, eg. Tracker, Ground Anchor, big spike impaling arsehole coming through the seat type thing… What else really?

It is possible to get a key cut without a master key. If its a transponder key it won’t have the chip in it but it will undo the steering lock easy enough, then if you have a van to put it in you don’t need it to run do you.

Wonder if Suzuki still sell blanks like they used to?

True, although I’ve been told all new Yamaha and Suzuki keys have to have the Master Key to cut, otherwise you have to change the CDI ignition unit. Also unless its been planned for some time then explain getting a ‘transponder key’ within 20mins? plus Stewart said it were “irish travellers” that stole their new Gixxer, what do you rekon about their keycutting abilities now?

-Hennessy

as above have said, if it aint transponder coded, key cut and nicked no probs, if it is transponder, key cut and pushed away no probs either, deffo suss, report that test rider to the fuzz.

Bad news

you can cut a ket to fit the barrel of the bike(with or without the key) but most new jap bikes have immobiliser’s a genuine equipment. So without a propper key you need to buy a new ecu. (circa £1500). it’s just had the steering lock smashed and nicked for parts i’d bet.Phil mabey.

was that a bit close to the bone?

Hennessy

You may need the master key to code a new key to a CDI but you don’t need a master to cut a key.

Anything can be bypassed.

Ithoguth ya can get transponders done too?

Me m8 runs a key cutters. boot mending place abnd knows his buisness well, he use to do keys with transponders (car 1s) as long as you got right blnk etc it can be programmed there.

He got a little device, ya put key in and it reads it etd then ya put blank/chip key in and it puts it onto that, summat like that anyway.

Seen it done on cars. just a RFID tag afterall.

Damn… They’re on to me!!!

HI FOXY…Bing it up the ace and we can all rag the t*ts off it before you take it back…you are going to take it back aren`t you. EVENTUALLY…

Gixxer… What Gixxer?!?

I didnt know this, independants can reprogramme transponders. I shagged my new gsxr transponder key, bought a new blank from Suzuki, I’ve been told to go to a keycutters, get it cut, then go to the main dealers to get the key programmed in order to have a working key.

Speaking to West London Suzuki the other day, it seems the Fuzz & all dealers know there is a gang constantly casing west/all London dealers for bikes, they lost a K5, got the video of 4 blokes lifting it as a memento. Then the old bill get a call from a little old lady complaining about some strange motorbike been left in her semi derelict garage . . . turned out the thieves were not so organised, had no lockup and had left it in her garage to cool off, so WLS got it back. Sounds like a decent stakeout/tracker might get the bastardos.
