Cleaing tips

have to strongly agree with the others on the WD40 tip,

My old Gixxer 750 had white wheels and I used to absolutely loath trying to clean them, I could never get the oily grime off and used a spong scourer one day and did all the paint in

Then I discovered WD40, jesus, what a difference, i admit to being a bit lazy/risky and put my back wheel on a paddock stand and pop it in 1st gear.

Spray the rim as they spin with just enough to coat it once, too much will leak off onto your sidewalls and can contaminate the edges of the tyres.

Then carefully hold an old kitchen towel against the rim and all the muck flies off, you won’t believe how easily!!! Be very careful though, if you catch the towel in the chain, say goodbye to your fingers!!

Also gets all the tar/oil spots off the undertray area.

I get WD40 trade price at £2.50 odd for a ‘Trade size’ tin, about a litre of it!

As for the rest of the bike, WD40 in all the little areas and rub off, then wax and Chamois for the rest off bike.

I’m not too anal though and should spend longer to be honest, but my knees hurt and I get bored

God bless Handy Andy and his blue and yellow tin! My mate is a fleet manager for a major courier firm and says that they go through more of that stuff than you’d believe - the most useful tin I have ever purchased…even use it for cleaning the crud off my arms after washing the bike, think the only thing Ive not succesfully tempted from an application is giving some zing to my famous lasagne recipe! All hail the WD!
