City Ride, then to Ace, then to Bikesafe 20/06

Hi All,

Still organising this.

Going to meet at the Ace (unless another easy meet point is suggested), at 8am?

Ride around London a bit for some fun.

Then back to the Ace at 10am to head to Bikesafe in Hendon.

Still trying to figure out a meet point that works- not everyone wants to go to the Ace and then back into London again. I am not from around here, so any suggestions?

How about where the learner legal run to Brighton started? On the Embankment - same side as the river - just before you get to Big Ben … in this bay here:,-4.064941&sspn=13.857722,39.375&ie=UTF8&ll=51.501817,-0.123864&spn=0,359.89048&z=14&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=51.501918,-0.12385&panoid=jHaFRnc1ZYEg_FEazm51RA&cbp=12,353.84,0,5

Orrrr … there is this little coach park at St Pauls Cathedral …,+City+of+London,+City+of+London+EC4N+7,+United+Kingdom&sll=51.501817,-0.123864&sspn=0,359.89048&ie=UTF8&cd=2&geocode=FXj-EQMdWK7-_w&split=0&ll=51.512902,-0.096613&spn=0.001602,0.01369&z=17&iwloc=lyrftr:w2.97,0x487604ab2d827117:0x8bdb3fc9a9b30316,51.514805,-0.097589&lci=transit&layer=c&cbll=51.513099,-0.097481&panoid=BJ-F4W-CvH1gxwXHScx-iQ&cbp=11,324.47,0,5

We could go to Borough Market for a sausage/bacon sandwich rather than breakfast at the Ace?

Just an idea mind - happy to go with the flow

How about starting at Borough Market to get fortified? Then work outwards back to the Ace?

A nice idea in theory but the website says BM opens at 9 on a Saturday … so if people want to meet at 8/earlier then that won’t work …

For the record … I’m happy to come up to the Ace if that’s where everyone else wants to meet … just seems a bit silly to endure the A40 twice if we’re travelling back to my neck of the woods anyway EDIT : I’m more than happy to just meet at 9 for breakfast at Borough as an alternative to breakfast at the Ace if others are up for it - though would mean just going straight from Borough to Ace rather than having a potter around

I’m up for this and can meet at Embankment or Borough. I don’t know how to get to the Ace.

Central London for fun??

I think the original idea was to start at silly o clock early and do some sightseeing before the traffic woke up  see if we could wake Lizzie up in the palace with 5150’s new 'zorst :stuck_out_tongue:

can we meet at 9am?!?!? PLEASEEEEE dont make me beg :crying:

I’m easy with the either location of Embankment or Borough. I don’t mind meeting at 9 either if that suits others. Who’s all going and what’s everyone’s thoughts?

You sure you can even manage a 9am start you lazy bugger? :stuck_out_tongue:

Though I suppose as long as you’re out of bed by 8:50 … that nice clean sprocket/chain should have you over from Ilford in time

See, it really only works if it’s EARLY early.

I was thinking more like 7.30 at Borough - the roads won’t be empty at 9am. And if we decide to meet then - let’s face it, we won’t get going until 9.45…!

Getting even earlier now! :w00t::w00t::w00t:

Fair point well made

If meeting at 9 … it might as well be at the Ace …

Early or not at all is the way forward

How about this: those who want to do an EARLY early, meet at Borough Market at 7.30, then ride up to the Ace for 9am, to meet the rest there for brekkie?

That’s what I said :pinch:

london early morning for the novelty value of no traffic sound interesting

Never ridden around London when the roads are empty? It’s brilliant!

Plus, you can pretend you’re in 28 Days Later.

Sounds good.

Any way I can get a guide there?

I’ll see whoever at BM then in the morning :)Whereabouts is the normal meeting point? I know it’s a bit of a maze of roads round there …EDIT : ooh Renee beat me to it … google street view plzzzzzzzz

I’m too lazy.
