Chelsea Bridge...

This has been bubbling away however it seems that there is a meeting going on tonight about the above venue/meet.

Local residents have formally complained about the ‘nuisence’ this meet causes. It seems they want the Local Council and the police to close it down / discourage bikers from meeting there - mainly on safety grounds (spurious reports of injuries) they’ve even involved Kensington And Chelsea for some reason…

Of course it’s got nothing to do with the expensive luxury apartments overlooking the tea hut…

I’ll keep you posted!

Ah well, not a great surprise but cheers for the heads-up. Welcome BTW!

We all knew that there was going to be complaints and further action taken sooner or later really…

I know…
It just seems to be getting to the point whn it will happen rather than if…

Its a shame that something that has been going on for twenty odd years comes to an end.I guess it is an inevitability.

it’s like buying a house under the flight path of Heathrow and lobbying against the planes?

Good analogy, Wiggetta! It was inevitable, from the first time we knew it would be luxry apartments. To be honest, I’m surprised it’s taken this long, but I think that’s down to the downturn in attendence and stunt-show quality over the last year or two. Before then, it was bonkers, a couple of crashes every Friday night, some car getting pranged up and more bikes than you could shake a pointy stick at. Oh them were the days.

One of my most prominent memories is a Supra coming down the road at what had to be near max speed, locking it up well before the traffic lights and sliding and fish-tailing all down the bridge before finally hitting a parked car, then somehow managing to drive off after. Amazingly not a single person was hurt!

Then there was all the looped-wheelies, and ‘christs’ gone wrong into parked cabs. Damn, wish I had a good video camera back then.
