I was wondering if anyone knows any cheap insurance company’s
My current insurere (CIA Insurance) offer me a policy last year for £410 for my Hornet 2008 but this year (with no claims + 1 year NCD) its gone up to £610, this makes no sense to me. I am 26 years old so perhaps its due to my age but still no reason why it should go up instead of down.
any advise would be helpful thanks
p.s
I tried GoCompare.com they suggest my current insurer is the cheapest
It’s worth ringing around the top 5 cheapest to see if they can reduce the quote - they often can with a bit more detail, I’ve always improved quotes or got extras (helmet cover etc) this way and i’m not the worlds greatest blagger.
I can recommend ebike. I always get the cheapest quotes from them, you get roadside recovery included which I have used multiple times and is excellent, and I’ve even made a claim on my old bike that was stolen and they came through no problem with a sensible offer - although it took a while, but I’m sure all insurers are the same in that respect.
It helped me find cheap insurance and I’ve used it ever since I took my first policy out.
I was with CIA and they did the same thing (they said La Parisienne no longer offered me insurance but MCE did). I ended up going with them despite some of the negative things I’ve heard and read. So far they’ve been good but the proof is always in the pudding… or rather when you need to claim.
I ended up getting insurance for the same price for both my bikes. However I had to add 2 minor accidents with a rent-a-car, use of business insurance and included in that was RAC membership… so overall I saved money
According to something I read back in the spring, bike insurance premiums in London and all the other big conurbations was probably likely to rise 15% this year due to the rampant and growing theft of motorcycles. Remember, this is on the basic premium they start from before discounts/loadings.
Looks like that prediction has been proven. The only person I know that has had a decent price reduction this year got that because he retired and gave up business use cover, commuting, moved from a London suburb into the wilds of East Sussex and acquired a brick built garage in the move.
