Charity Egg Run for underprivalegded children

Cheers hun, don’t get a thorntons ones though eh, i’ll end up eating it myself :w00t::wink:

www.community-links.org try looking at this, they have their number at the bottom of the page? maybe we could call them and find out if it is actually ending at their canning town address? least that way if we do come unstuck we can head for that location? guess some of us could go straight there but its the ride in together that matters to them, seeing us getting there same time etc? apparently refreshments will be there according to first post?

Ahhh this sounds so good and would love to do it, but my bike is in for a service that it cant miss, if someone can meet me i will donate eggs, i live in wickford, essex

Its on the same road as the Walthamsthow dog races. Just further up towards Chingford. I think its the second set of lights from the races, but not too sure… :hehe:We going to be going from here. Just as FYI - LMRR will call you on details, but we will head up the 406 and then up to the Harley Place. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=e4%208se&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

BTW I will be coming on the commuter - complete with top box. So if anyone who cant make it wants to drop off an easter egg at the harley place - more than happy to pop it in the box…

Conveniently there is both a Sainsburys and a Morrisons close by…

I might be coming to this…

Cheers Blade, got eggs. I’ll be putting the humpback panniers on, so will probably have space if anybody wants me to carry their eggs.

Ive called the community links place and they said they are ready for us all on Sat, they are in barking road canning town, not hard to find really.

Abbeyj, i know where the harley place is nr Walthamstow Dogs, i will call you and let you know if im going to go straight there or meet up with you guys on route. Didnt realise it was there tbh.

Sounds like we’re pretty much all set for a nice little ride and some food for the soul.

Hoping to get my eggs there in a ruck sack with minimal damage, that’s if they get there at all as they’re currently they’re sitting in the kitchen testing my will power to its limits

Am I correct in assuming that the ride starts at the Kings Oak, then swings past the Harley dealership on the way to pick up those starting there, and then on to Canning Town?

Hi new cbrrider There are two start points the kings oak star is a little further and so starts first. but they join up at barking road in the end

why cant we swing past the harley meet and all go together, that would be cool…i love stopping traffic…oh and i hope people dont eff off and leave others that dont know canning town, me included !! traffics gonna be a bummer as well…so dont want to lose people…

I will contact the organisers and run your suggestion by them, as like you I think it would make for a more impressive turn out.

I agree. The bigger the better. To keep everyone together shouldn’t we use the cornerman system? Another thought, given that the group will inevitably get a little strung out, we could reassemble somewehere around the corner from the charity in Canning Town and have everyone catch up, so we then all turn up in one, impressive pack, rather than half a dozen or so at a time, with a few stragglers at the end. Just throwing a couple of ideas our there for consideration - don’t want to hijack the organisation of this as I’m really just along for the ride.

No i think its a good idea too? i deffo think we should meet up with the others and i deffo think we need a cornerman system, i know we are not going that far from one meet point to the other and on to the end, but there are going to be some left because of traffic lights and traffic in general…so we need someone who knows where we are going at the front and BACK all the time, we need to know who the backmarker will be so whoever is doing cornerman knows when to take off again…so someone better hurry up and get it sorted, or i might as well just take my eggs straight to canning town cos its nearer and easier, and just meet u guys n gals when u get there

Hiya, can I come along for this, I haven’t been on a ride out with anyone from the forum yet and this sounds like a really good cause.

Hi all

There will be a lead bike and a tail gunner that you should not be able to miss! we have marshals - some of which will be unity ride marshals this year as they have already offered thier services. Over the last few years the number of riders attending have not needed marshals at all, ( always the same old faces ) but we always hoped that we would need them so have always organised as though it was a BIG ride out (known faces as marshals). I have not seen the cornerman system in opperation but have read about it, its not something we’ve done before but is a great idea! That we should adopt. As far as I know we’ve not lost any one off the back before, the ride has always been slow. With a police escort never needed to stop for traffic lights something we donot have this year(lack of numbers and Police funding saw the end of that).

The run will now link up at Stratstone Harley then continue on to Canning Town, Flyers with the route will handed out on the day

Hope this helps

Chris

Hi Foogazi of cause you can come the ride is open to all

Chris

That sounds great. Another reason for lack of Rozzer support is due to current events in London. All leave is cancelled for them, so I think the weekend is a much needed break for the luck ones.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it’s pretty much sorted - should be good. All that’s left is for the weather to play ball.Gutted there’s no police escort - that would’ve been kinda cool. Perhaps we can make it big enough this year to justify one next time around!

Thats EXACTLY what I hope will happen! I think there is a pet food run around June for the animal Ark in Chadwell Heath, then we have the Toy Run for Community Links in December.
