Changes to Snetterton - business park

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/resources/sn_buspark/index.asp

if they resurface it then i`m all for it!! bits of tarmac missing in a really fast corner does put you off a little bit

that looks like a pretty cool track after the development.

Looks like an added couple of configurations might make for a few exciting track day

I guess with the better facilities might come more expense tho, as Snetterton is generally a fair bit cheaper than other circuits.

My Dad’s keen for the facelift as he practices there regular. Only ten minutes down the road from him

Would have been nice to see a chicane in the back straight but it looks good. I quite like Snetterton but some people say it’s a bit boring, this will freshen it up nicely. It’ll make the 2CV racing even more interesting :w00t::stuck_out_tongue:

only place i can think of thats poor is the first turn. And thats just a line you have to cross where the tarmac joins.

they’ve been talking about this for a while and it will be a great circuit with the changes. I’m just happy they have bucked the trend of putting poxy crap little chicanes in as it just makes for a mickey mouse track instantly.

I’ve got to agree with Seb, I was there last Monday and didn’t think there was a problem with the surface.

Why change a perfectly good track, im all for the rest of the development. But shanging the circuit…losing its identy a bit i think.

I loe it as it is…i travel a 200mile round trip for a bit of high speed fun

The plans for the track have been on the board for a couple of years. You may not believe this, but Snett has local noise issues!

I’m wondering if the business park part of it may be a bit of a trade. We’ll supply a possible source of jobs if you give us planning permision.

I like Snett as it is, even if it does give me a sore neck on a naked bike. I really enjoy the braking at the end of that straight! It would also be a shame to see Coram go.

However, I’m sure the new layout would be as much fun.

It’s funny, last year everybody was saying how boring Snetterton was, just a couple of long straights ! :stuck_out_tongue: Now it’s God’s own circuit :hehe::P;)

Not really…iv never claimed its perfect, but i just think it has its signature now…why change it.

Its fine as it is in my opinion

It’s a good trackday circuit, but boring for BSB spectators I think. Not enough corners.

What is it with the UK’s obsession of circular tracks as opposed to Europe’s super twisty ones?

its a bloody good race circuit not just for trackdays. I and many others love racing there. Its an awesome track to ride flat out. Russels, corum curve, sears and the crazy first turn. Spectators are treated to 2 great viewing spots but thats it really. Russels is awesome for action and keeping up with whats going on out there and the braking into the esses is on the great sights in bike racing.

Not to mention being an MSV track so when you go to the loo you know there will be paper, the showers will work and there will be a bar with decent grub.

i was there end of last month and there was a pothole(bout half inch deep by 8inches wide) on coram curve. it might just be not using the right line:P

in the corners you have to be really confident in the front end to take them flat out and it doesn`t help wen u see a bit of tarmac missing

i bet the price of a trackday will go sky high after the renovation work has been completed. even though its one of the cheapest tracks i`ve been on

i must have missed that ‘pot hole’ then in the 3 days we raced there and the 2 times we cycled the track studying it in the evenings lol

Might need your sussy looking at if you felt a hole that big :w00t:

they must`av sorted it then :P:D:P:D:P

I did notice that dodgy surface when I went there a couple of weeks ago, but to me it didn’t seem to be on the racing line.

Or maybe I was on the grass again

“a pothole(bout half inch deep by 8inches wide) on coram curve” - the new, extended Bombhole :D:D:DOnly surface I’ve ever had an issue with at Snett is the surface change/ridge around the first part of the first corner (as someone mentioned above). Looking on the positive side, it sort of forces you to take a decent line!

Cheers
