Chain and sprocket brands/models.

Does anyone have experience with chains aimed at racing like the Tsubaki 520 racing pro gold chain and accompanying sprockets? There seem to be a few bits of conflicting advice about saying you can’t really use them on the road, and other places that say they can be used on both the road and track and will offer a “15% increase in acceleration”.

Is that all hype and marketing?

I do believe the X-ring offers an advantage over the O-ring in terms of providing a better lubricant seal, but has anyone else got any experience of aftermarkets being better than OEMs?

No idea if OEM are good or not but I have a DID X ring ZVM2 gold on my ZX6, 520 with Renthal alloy sprockets - but this is a track bike not a road bike. Just bought the same but with steel sprockets in 530 for the busa. Look good and you know you’re buying something reasonably good.

i dont think you will gain 15% but there are some gains with a 520 kit.

maybe 1 bhp at the wheel

you can use them on the road but it will not last as long as a 525 chain…
