Central Heating Systems !!

For all you Plumbers Out there or People in the “Know” !!

I need to remove a Rad, Its the first one on the System Loop (Clockwise).

Do I need to “Bridge” the “Up Pipes” after removal as not to break the direction of Water Travel or do I just “Cap” them and the Water Travels the Loop Anti-Clockwise and stop at the Gap !

Taking in to consideration that the entire Loop will still be intact (Boiler/Emersion on same section) as the Water Feed to Bathroom is connected “Mid Loop” and direct to the Boiler. (picture the figure “8” a gap in it).

Stumped, Stuck and Hate This Job !!!

Well if you try closing the valve on the rad in question, turn on the heating & the others still heat up then it should be OK to cap it, if on the otherhand they stay cold then you’ll need to put a loop in.

Thanks Pat,

That happens,(System works) but what Im thinking of is becouse the Emersion and the Boiler are on a part of the Loop that comes nowhere near the Rad in question then am I right in thinking that the removal of the Rad will not effect the Water Travel where the Hot Water feed is concerned with the Taps Bathroom and Kitchen ??

Feed and Pressure ??

All done Pat,

Replacement pipe needed as pressure went down but no problem…

Thanks for your input !
