I wouldn’t be offended if an Irish person posted an english joke, I think some people maybe too sensitive, i mean, are you going to ban mother-in-law jokes too? And then there’s Essex girls jokes :D, the list goes on and on and on…
A lot of people see a potential fight and jump on board, when its really not that big a deal.
I have no idea what keith wrote originally, and by the looks of it was offensive, which is why the mods stepped in.

as much as i love a laugh and a joke, i dont like hypocrisy
who decides that a joke about a certain race/ethnic minority is ok, but a joke about another isnt
So what’s the consensus - are jokes containing reference to a person’s race, for example, offensive by definition or should the joke *actually * *be * offensive i.e. “disgusting, loathsome, nasty, repellent, revolting and vile” (thefreedictionary.com)?
If it *is * offensive by definition, should all jokes containing reference to a person’s individual circumstances (e.g. overweight, nationality/regional background/accent, hair colour etc etc) be treated with the same reverence, and effectively banned?
If not, why not?
the difference been is the irish/english/scottish can take a joke and have a sence of humour, even the germans can take it on the chin most of the rest have been blinded by religion and need to chill a bit.

all jokes are offensive as are some peoples reaction to them, best if either no jokes are posted or everyone just takes their temper off the boil and start to act like adults.
