forecast is poo! Rain rain and more bl**dy rain :crying:
It if it ain’t raining it ain’t training!
GOOD LUCK TOMORROW MATE.
SORRY THAT THE WEATHER IS GOING TO BE POO
dont think about it, just go do it!
part of my DAS training was in torrential rain, it shed the fear of doing my test in the rain, plus when you pass you may get caught out in the rain…
remember…NO FEAR!!!
Avoid manhole covers right!
GOOD LUCK! :Dtraining in the worst conditions mean you get used to them from the word GO and have tuition on how to handle it.
Did my CBT in the rain and my DAS in January storms riding over the tops of the Brecon Beacons! Great fun when I got the hang of it and great preperation and instruction for dealing with adverse weather on the bike!
Good luck, you’ll be fine in the rain
I done most of my DAS in the pouring rain, luckily it cleared up in time for my test
Just means that I don’t have any fears about riding in the rain at all…oh, except for the rain on the way back from the LB France trip!!! that was something else :hehe:
good luck, you’ll be fine
With the way the weather has been lately, I could be making snowmen by the end of the day
if leaning over or cornering yes! and white lines/arrows on the road are also slippery when wet.
when its raining i slow right down, brake gently, keep a good distance between you and the car infront.
you will be fine;)
confidence is a powerfull tool when riding. just dont get overconfident!![]()
perfect weather!
it wont stress you out in future if you train in those conditions
just ask yourself, would you prefer to go out in the rain for the first time with an instructor on CBT or just after passing your DAS all on your lonesome?
good luck and enjoy
I’ve got my CBT tomorrow aswell, ought to be an interesting day…
I’m feeling a little ill at the moment aswell, so I’d best be better by tomorrow or I’m going to have a real miserable day. Cold, damp and ill! :ermm:
…and on a bike, so not all bad!!!![]()
Good luck to you too…!
Good luck both, you’re better off doing it in the rain IMO, you will be more prepared for real life riding !
Things to avoid in the wet have been mentioned above, but also watch out for tar banding (shiny rim around where the road has previously been dug up).
You’ll be fine, I may have a supprise for you if you pass! :w00t:
if you get it done under the rain and you pass you will be fine in the dry whenever it is dry … it’s best to get it down under extreme conditions…that’s how i see it anyway
i did my cbt and das under a lot of rain … well worth it… believe me
good luck
Good luck to both of you, the weather doesn’t look too bad and you may have even passed by now?!?
The best advice I heard about riding in the rain is to do everything slower and smoother, no on/off action with the throttle or brake, nice and gentle and progressive, planning ahead helps hugely. If you get it right you can travel pretty fast and still be perfectly safe, although this may not apply quite so much whilst doing your CBT where you’ll probably do no more that 40mph out on the road!
On my CBT I got told to watch the speed when I hit about 74 on a dual carriageway:w00t:
But he did concede that it was necessary to safely pass a truck in the gap which appeared in the outside lane…![]()
Done my CBT! Went really well and was a lot of fun. My legs and feet got so cold they were hurting, but other than that was great, and only got a little wet
Kept doing my ‘lifesaver’ look on roundabouts, and then checking to the right again though. Bit of a habit from the car but I eventually overcame that (mostly). I was careful to avoid wet manhole covers aswell, thankyou all for the advice
Thought I’d let you know how it went
Excellent news! Glad to hear it…![]()
