CBt on saturday

Well i booked my cbt for this saturday {hopefully followed by my das}, i was wondering if anyone could give me some advise on this as i am slightly nervous and have a mixed idea on what to expect.
Cheers Chris

The main thing is to relax.

The CBT is not a test, but is a training session. Therefore, unless you are a complete muppet and are then asked to leave the course, you should have no problem.

From some other posts in another forum, apparently, the main problem is people getting stressed out.

Easier said than done, but just stay chilled.

Good luck!

Chris, the road you’re on is a great one. Just think of the CBT as a fun day out riding bikes, it couldn’t be any better, you get to learn how to ride and you’ll have a great time, I guarantee it! As Baloo says, there’s no ‘test’, anyone who can ride a push-bike can get through the day.

This leads on to good things, very good things

Good luck mate. I can only reiterate the words from above, try not to stress out and try to relax. Concentrate on what you are being told and try walking before you can so to speak. I wish you luck.

How did you do?

Hopefully we’ll find out on Saturday after he’s done it

Good luck Chris mate, it’s not that bad, really. If it’s any help, I got told off for looking at the clocks too much!

Oh and if you’re used to driving a car…accelerate isn’t the right foot anymore, in fact it’s the opposite… (meaning brake, not left foot!) lol

Oh, I see this to come saturday (lol)! Ok! Good luck mate

Just relax and try and enjoy the day, as has been said already, it is not a test,
so try not to get stresed about it. Although that is easier said than done.

GOOD LUCK MATEY…you’ll have no probs, just pay attention

Like everyone says, stay relaxed yet focused on the task at hand. The thinking is always harder than the doing!

just concentrate and try to relax! if it’s any consolation when I did my CBT three years ago I was so nervous, I didn’t have the confidence to go out on the road until I’d wobbled around their training car park for 3 weeks. As soon as I relaxed, I felt OK to go out on the road and lo & behold, I passed! Got myself a little 125 Marauder (or the ‘chicken chaser’ as it was affectionately known) and haven’t looked back since.

I had a hornet as my first ‘big bike’ and loved it. I was tempted by a CBR but couldn’t afford the insurance.

Wishing you lots of luck for Saturday!

yeah jus chillout listen to what they tell you or in my case what they were shouting at me through the ear peice… i had never ridden before got my cbt monday pm had a full licence by the friday mid morning if i can do it anyone can

Thanks for the advise guys , i think my many worry was nerves and bringing old habits along from the days of cycle couriering but i shall do my best

As above man…just listen and you’ll be fine - you actually have to make an effort for them to judge you unsafe to continue riding on the Queens highways…guarantee you’ll say ‘its a doddle’ two mins after youve sailed it! Good luck mate!

any news?

Yeah! You in or out man?!!?!

Yeah i did it! was a bit nervous when we were training but once i got on the road i was fine

Glad to hear that it went well for you Chris! When is your main test booked for?

Havent booked it yet i was thinking about doing some pizza delivery for some more road experience for a couple of weeks before i go for my training and test .

Yeah! that’s why al the pizza boys are a bit crazy on the roads then? They are all practising for hteir tests? lol

Better don’t get too confident and collect bad habits, lol ! Good luck on that

Which pizzeria? Do we get an LB discount?

Glad to hear you passed, Chris!
