CBT Modernising

The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is a good idea, as such has remained for the last twenty five years, unchanged. As I see it any problems relate to monitoring of CBT training and trainers. Some trainees have been tempted into cheap prices, then asked for continuation fees, to complete. The standard of training is not consistent. There is a DVSA consultation document on possible changes available in PDF format: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/modernising-compulsory-basic-training-courses-for-motorcyclists
Trainers and Dealers have been notified. As an ex Trainer I am still on the list to be notified.
I would like the CBT certificate to be given a 3 year life. One has a chance to obtain the “knowledge”, deliver Pizzas, Parking Tickets. Or buy a car. This proposal would not be in the interest of existing Trainers.
