Just wondering if anyone can advise…
I have a 2002 CBR F4i, wondering if anyone can recommend a decent lowering kit? Im 5ft4"… Need a 1.5inch lowering kit if possible…

im guessing this is about getting you’re feet on the floor when you stop the bike…
have you been riding the cbr for long & how much of you’re feet can you get touching the ground?
im 5’5’’ and could only just get my tip toes on the ground with my cbr6rr when i got it which felt pretty dodgy as id previously been used to both feet flat on the floor when i had my 400.
First I looked at getting it lowered but didn’t want to affect the handling so i scrapped that idea. (sorry i don’t know much about lowering kits as i didn’t go down that route)
The other option i looked at was to get some foam removed from the seat in order get a lower seat height.
By the time i got round to getting a spare seat that i could chop up and re shape i had got used to riding the bike as it was so i never changed anything in the end…
i just stop with one foot flat on the floor and the bike slightly lent over to one side making sure to watch out when stopping on cambered road surfaces!
That was a few years ago and dare i say it Ive not dropped it yet!
you could try either…
1.finding a kit and getting it lowered
2.Getting the seat reshaped to lower the seat height
or just see how you get on with it for a while to see if you get more confident using a ‘adapted’ stop position!
+1 on lowering the seat.
My Fazer had a ‘lowered’ seat - although I didn’t need it at 6’2"!
Might be better than switching the dog bones out for shorter ones… As rob said it could have a negative effect on the handling…
I bought a cbr 600 f lowered seat a while ago, decided I didnt need it.
If you want to try it out I’m in SE26, might be able to get along to the blackheath tea hut with it next weds if you’re interested.

r_o_b-Yes would like to touch the floor abit more lol, have had my CBR 2 years butonly ridden it a handful of times as I was riding off road on my motoX bike fora year, which again was short (kx85)! My toes touch the floor but that’s it, itseems to kill my confidence abit, I seemed to ride it round fine for a whilebut where I haven’t ridden for 8 months the bike daunts me! also I have to rideit out my garden to start with, which is a 7" drop and find it difficultto lean the bike over to avoid hitting the gate hook.
I’m5’4" and my first bike I had for 3 years (RS125) was small, light andshort lol… When I do ride my CBR, I use one foot like you but whilst leaningit I feel the weight… and I feel like I need more leg power/muscle to feel comfortable.
duncmac-Would your seat fit on my f4i?? and do you how much it would lower my positionby? I was hoping for a 1.5inch drop??
ThinkI should try the shaved seat to start with… Sounds good to me.
As long as the 1 piece seat and not the sport one it’ll fit.

Looks like its an easy 1.5 inch drop.
The seats lower where the foams been scooped out, its not been done at the sides too well so its a bit bucket like.
I’ll post some pics tomorrow.
Oh my bikes has the 2 piece set dude. Its the sport’s seat. How annoying urs would have been perfect, but thank u for giving me the info. Its hugely appreciated
