Hello chaps…My 98 cbr 600 keeps over heating in traffic and its starting to annoy…ive put a new rad,new thermostat,fresh coolant the fan kicks in at about 3/4 on the gauge…
was thinking about replacing the rad cap but thats about 30 quid wasted if i dont need it… what to do…???
Get A Upgraded Radiator Cap And I Would Put A Switch On Fan To Turn On When Riding Is Easy Enought To Do
ahh im gonna do that …when you say upgraded do you mean just a new one?
Previously did the fan cut in much higher up than 3/4 of the way up the temp gauge?
I had a 98 hornet (same engine) and the fan is supposed to come on when the temp gauge is about 3/4 (quarters) of the way up.
Plus it’s gonna be happening frequently in the recent bout of hot weather when you are stuck in traffic.

Its always cut in about 3/4…just fitted a new rad cap still the same …i spoke to a garage they say could be valve clearance??? buggered if i know:Wow:
Cutting in around 3/4 sounds about right mate - that’s when it should be cutting in.
