Does anybody on here know of anyone that is good with cars? I think I may have a real problem and really don’t want to have my pants pulled down!

perhaps a description of the real problem might be helpful? No good recommending someone I know who specialises in electrics when you have an exhaust problem.
Basically I have a '53 plate Toyota that needs a major service. It’s been a bit neglected regarding the service history and I’ve just noticed that the oil is going to need to be flushed and changed. I don’t want to take it to any old joe bloggs garage where there will be the old intake of breath routine, just want someone honest and fair.
Sounds eminently doable, my dad just did a full service and belt change for a mate of mine for under half what the main agent quoted…PM me if you want his number! 
I have found my mechanic in Cricklewood to be trustworthy and very reasonably priced. But that might be too far away from you.
Ricky on the forum can get a look at it. He is based in Ascot. He does engine transplants and that sort of thing. Or he’ll sell you a Focus. He’s always got a Focus for sale.
